Crema's Take

Morning Lobby is a charming San Jose brunch destination that nails the relaxed, Instagram-worthy café vibe with cozy couch seating, plenty of indoor-outdoor space, and genuinely excellent breakfast sandwiches with perfectly crispy-yet-soft bread. The espresso program pairs beautifully with their pastries and light fare, making it an ideal spot for lingering over coffee whether you're meeting friends or settling in with your laptop. Fair warning: the experience and aesthetic come at a premium price, but weekend crowds suggest plenty of locals think it's worth it.

I had a great brunch experience at Morning Lobby! The interior is incredibly cute, and there is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, which makes for a really pleasant atmosphere. The Food: • Scrambled Egg Toast: This was the highlight! The eggs were incredibly soft and perfectly cooked. • Avocado Toast: Very nice and fresh. • Tater Tots: These were just average—not bad, but nothing standout. The Drinks: • Vienna Latte: It was good quality, though a bit too sweet for my personal preference. It would be a great addition if the staff asked for a preferred sweetness level when ordering! Overall, the ambiance is fantastic and food was decent. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their coffee!

If you’re looking for a place that’s a nice little local cafe this is the spot for you. However keep in mind the pricing is a bit high for what you’re getting. An avocado toast and chicken wrap with two drinks cost $42. The service was good and the food was great! The ambiance is nice and there is a ton of seating! The interior seating is pretty small, but the do have an outdoor section with an enclosed space if you can’t find a spot inside.

Very nice spot for breakfast or brunch with a spacious patio, both covered and uncovered. The couch seating with coffee tables is great for chatting over coffee and gives the place a cute vibe, though it’s not practical for eating. The coffee drinks are phenomenal, and I love being able to see the staff preparing the food. Unfortunately, line management could be much better, larger parties may wait while multiple parties of two are seated, and service is slow once seated, often requiring multiple requests for basics like water or silverware. Prices are reasonable and the food quality is great, but portions are very small. Overall, a nice place, but fairly average due to service and portion size.

This place is my new go-to brunch spot! I definitely understand the hype and why they have a long line during the weekends. I’ve been here both during the week and weekend for brunch and this cafe has never missed; the birria breakfast burrito is so flavorful and delicious, and the apple pie matcha latte is a great fall seasonal drink! The French toast was also super yummy and a perfect sweet treat. There’s both outdoor and indoor seating; honestly it’s whatever is available as they get pretty busy, but the service is friendly and you get your food within a decent amount of time. I’d recommend going early for brunch on the weekends or later in the day, unless you don’t mind a 30 minute or so wait. The food is definitely worth the wait though! Have recommended this place to all my friends and co-workers.

Update 10/24/25: Tried the classic egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with avocado this morning for the first time. Yum! That bread so crispy and soft at the same time and tastes like a croissant and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Will definitely order this again 😁 Morning Lobby on Almaden Expressway has been my go-to spot pretty much every week since they opened. The Vienna latte is my favorite. It is sweet with just a little salt on the cream and so good I could eat a cup of it on its own. The food is solid too. I have had the tater tots, avocado toast with a poached egg, and the Nutella French toast. Friends tell me the burger and breakfast burrito are really good as well. Even if the line looks long, it moves fast and the orders come out quick. The staff is always friendly and says hello with a smile, which makes the place feel really welcoming. It is a cozy spot that has become part of my weekly routine. In fact, I was just there yesterday and thought I should leave a review on Google to let others know how great this place is. Be sure to try the Vienna latte! Pro tip: get it to go so you can enjoy the cream from the lid when it’s done… and don’t mix it when you get it! Drink the coffee through the cream 😁
