Matcha Magic

I visited Matcha Magic three times in the last three days. They’re the only good “authentic” matcha place open before at before 10am so I’ve been coming in before work or an early road trip. By authentic, I mean they use real matcha powder and you can see the baristas measure and whisk the matcha powder at the bar vs the “matcha” at D. Bros, BB, or SBux. The cafe is aesthetically decorated in pinks and greens, so it’s a good place to go with your bestie to grab a treat and a few cute pics. I ordered the double matcha the first two visits and I came back specifically to try Mango Sticky Matcha! When I spoke with the owner about the special, she let me know an employee created it—she was very proud of her (we love)! That employee ended up making her drink for me today! The mango sticky matcha was refreshing! I love mango and coconut, so for me, the flavors worked well together—a fun alternative! The double matcha was rich in matcha flavor, had a good thickness to it, and wasn’t too sweet. I was skeptical about the oat milk base they use because I’m typically not a fan of the taste of oat milk, but it was delicious and lasts me the whole work day. Someone different has helped each visit but each of them have been very friendly! They do have other non-matcha smoothies and food which I have yet to try but obviously I will be back.

I am always on the lookout for solid matcha places, and this one fits the bill. They use ceremonial-grade matcha from Japan and have plenty of complimentary drinks for all taste buds. I ordered the Double Matcha, which was perfectly suited to my palate as a seasoned matcha lover. It struck the right balance of sweet and I liked that it could be customized.

We loved it! Great matcha flavor and they make the matcha using whisks in front of you. The double matcha is the best and the most matcha-forward drink.
