Crema's Take

Wellington's Cafe & Catering brings classic diner charm to Charleston with a reputation that shines brightest when you settle in for a leisurely meal or lean on them for catering—regulars rave about their attentive service and homestyle comfort, while their signature Bal Tabrin Sandwich (a delicate balance of deli meats and blue cheese sauce) hints at the care they put into their plates. It's the kind of place where you'll find locals lingering over coffee, and where the catering team, led by genuinely accommodating staff, goes the extra mile to make your event seamless.

I went and got the "Tuesday chicken special" last week and it was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. The chicken was dry and old and it tasted like it had been sittin out under a heat light for days. The "cheesy taters" were just big pieces of diced up potatoes with no flavor, butter or cheese 😧

Old Diner feel with great food, great service. I've dined in and had them cater some lunches for my business. Always very satisfied!

Wellington’s recently catered an event for me and I can’t say enough great things about them. Tom Grant was so nice and efficient. Very accommodating. Just one call to him and he took care of everything. The food was excellent! If you’re looking for a caterer, look no further than Wellington’s.

We went for Thanksgiving. The turkey and roast were very good. The mashed potatoes and dressing were good. The corn, green beans were awful.the hashbrown casserole was so earthy that I'm not sure they washed the potatoes.

Wellington's Cafe looks like a completely average dinner, but don't be fooled. Their Bal Tabrin Sandwich Rules! Thin slices of deli ham and turkey smothered with a divine blue cheese sauce, garnished with cherry tomatoes and sliced black olives then broiled until bubbly - a dish to crave! Vegetable beef soup was also excellent with a depth of flavor totally unexpected. Be sure to stop when in Charleston.
