Crema's Take

Lucy Ethiopian Cafe brings an authentic taste of Ethiopia to Boston with genuinely delicious traditional dishes—their vegetable platters and meat combos consistently earn praise for bold, well-executed flavors, and the red lentils and chickpeas are standouts worth ordering. Beyond the food, it's the combination of exceptional, attentive service and a genuinely clean, comfortable space that makes this feel like a gathering place rather than just a meal, perfect for lingering over coffee with friends or family.

Exceptional service, very clean and comfortable setting. Ordered the vegetable combo and chose red lentils, yellow peas and chick peas. All unique and delicious, the red lentils and chick peas had such wonderful spices. Thank you for an enjoyable lunch!

Delicious Ethiopian food! Took the veggie platter for 3 and the beef. Veggie platter was veeery good, just minus one star because it was cold and not as fresh as it should be (maybe because we were here on a Monday night). Also the beef was good but not that tender, not was the sauce as it’s supposed to be (was just oil?), I know they can do better. Peanut tea is delicious and heavy and better called peanut milk. Service was friendly, just not nice that we were being “hurried” out at 8pm on a Monday. Overall good place!

The food is 10/10. It's hard to find ethiopian food outside of the Boston area, and this place didn't disappoint. The combo options are great to try and little of everything, and delicious. The space us very cozy, warm and inviting, perfect for a quick lunch or for a date. The absolute best thing about this place is the staff. The staff were so kind, very friendly, and actually chased us down on the street to return a hat we left. Just fantastic people. We'll be returning whenever we get the chance to be in the area.

Lucy’s was one of the best restaurants I’ve had in Boston so far. The staff was incredibly kind, and incredibly helpful; however, the food blew me away. We got the chicken Combo platter which was full of flavor, and had a great spice level. The sides were delicious, and complemented our chicken very nicely. Beyond all of this I had just gotten out of class, so i had my backpack with my computer, and all of my class work underneath the table. In a moment of stupidity I left it overnight, but they held onto it for me without me even asking, and I was able to pick it up the next day. If you love flavorful food, and a cozy environment Lucy’s should be top of your list for a visit.

Really enjoyed coming here. Portion sizes are average (not especially large) considering the prices. I really liked the vegetable options, and the lamb was good, better than the beef imo. Service was fine, ordering was easy through the QR codes, though you can also order up front.
