Crema's Take

This beloved Ankeny institution has earned its stellar reputation through genuinely exceptional donuts and the warm, generous family running the shop—reviewers rave about custom-filled long johns, innovative cronuts, and warm spiced apple fritters that taste homemade and arrive still-warm to your hand. The casual, welcoming vibe makes it worth hunting down even if you've driven past for months, and getting there early is the smart move since their fresh inventory moves fast. It's the kind of neighborhood spot where the staff treats you like family and surprises you with samples, making even a simple donut run feel genuinely special.

Came in cuz I just randomly found it one day. Holy moly so good. I love donuts. Gave me a sample of a croissant donut mind blown. Service was honest, the lady was so nice and gave me a ton extra to try. So cool. Def coming back. Thanks guys.

This place is FIRE. Firstly we got an apple fritter. It was still warm with great flavor of warming spices, apple and was super tender and fluffy. We also got a cronut…if you haven’t had one I’d strongly recommend, it was the best I’ve ever had. We also had a raspberry long john donut…this isn’t your average gas station long john ladies and gentlemen. It starts out as a basic long john with nothing inside and they stuff it on the spot with a variety of fillings. When I say fill it they FILL it. It’s not a tiny squirt and the rest of the donut is empty. It’s stuffed so full the donut can’t hardly even hold it. Lifting this little fella is a chore…it’s heavy. Last but certainly not least on our tour was the spicy kolach. If you’re a fan of more of a savory breakfast this is for you. Super fluffy butter basted pasty bread, not sweet with a spicy polish type sausage inside. I did get the spicy because I like a little spice but it’s not hot it’s just well seasoned with what tasted like a little cheese inside. From what we had it’s this place is a 10/10. It’s not the cheapest but well worth the extra couple dollars. Sorry didn’t get any pictures it smelt so good it was gone before I took one.

Great service and great donuts. Most delicious apple fritter and donuts I've ever had. They fill your long johns to order too, and have many flavor options. Make sure to get there early, as they were down to a couple pans of donuts around 10am on a Tuesday. Can't wait to stop here again and try more.

I was looking for some donuts to take to my daughter's slumber party and found Linda’s Donuts in Ankeny after driving past it for months. Wow, they had a great selection still around 9 am on a Saturday morning. I got cake, long Johns, apple fritter, cronut, etc in the dozen I ordered. Great service overall!

Every time I go into Linda Donuts, the family there is so sweet! These are the best donuts in town and so fresh! I like the choices and always have people asking where I got the donuts! I would highly recommend anyone looking for a good donut in the Ankeny area to give them a try! (I cut them in half on the second photo to spread the love a little!!)
