My husband and I come here often. The food is wonderful and the staff is typically amazing. We had family in from Chicago and wanted to show them one of our favorite spots. We walked in at 1:15pm with a party of 4... (restaurant closes at 2pm). Krystal, the server was extremely friendly and welcoming. However it was clear from the cooks in the back that they didn't want us there. One chef was shaking his head and waiving his arms, gesturing for us to go away. The cooks window is very visible so to do this visibly in plain sight and in front of customers is very unprofessional and could have cost this establishment our business now and in the future. I spent the whole meal hoping I didn't get anything "special" in my food since we disturbed them during work hours. 😐 Luckily Krystal was so engaging and friendly so we stayed. I would encourage the cooks to take their opinions away from the window and away from customers line of sight when they are frustrated that paying customers are there during posted open business hours.

Our server was great, but the food was horrible. We had 4 at our table. 3 hated the food and 1 of us, me, tolerated it, but absolutely won't be back.

Classic hometown diner with hospitality as the centerpiece. Also, quite kid friendly. I had biscuits and gravy with chorizo and it was everything it needed to be. A true delight!

Gotta say, this is a great change of pace from Tucson breakfast places. They aren’t trying to rush you out the door, the food is better, the portions are outstanding and the service is amazing. They are always looking to top off your coffee and even the main cook (chef) is really friendly. I haven’t been for lunch but a salmon burger and fries for about $12! Who offers that in Tucson? I had the Grande Omelet which came with really good salsa (chunky, lots of veggies) with grits and toast and my bill was a little over $20. Atmosphere was whimsical and not political. Go here. Now. Stop reading this review, get off your phone, and go now. Now!!!

As a restaurant critic, I had the pleasure of dining at Sunny Side Up Cafe in Tucson, Arizona, and let me tell you, it was a stellar experience. I couldn't resist trying their renowned Catalina Special, and boy, was it a delight! The dish consisted of two succulent sausage patties nestled on top of perfectly flaky biscuits. And let's not forget about the scrambled eggs that were expertly cooked to fluffy perfection. To top it all off, a generous drizzle of savory gravy elevated the flavors to new heights. The combination of the sausage, biscuits, eggs, and gravy created a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate with every bite. The dish was not only visually appealing but also incredibly satisfying to taste. The ingredients were fresh, and the portion size was just right. The service at Sunny Side Up Cafe was exceptional, with attentive staff who made sure my dining experience was nothing short of excellent. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere added to the overall charm of the place. I highly recommend Sunny Side Up Cafe to anyone craving a hearty and delicious breakfast. Whether you're a local or just passing through Tucson, this charming eatery is a must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
