Crema's Take

This Santa Clara spot has built genuine buzz around their signature salt bread, which draws dedicated lines of customers eager to catch fresh batches throughout the day. While their top-quality ingredients and creative drinks show real promise, the experience can feel inconsistent—though recent updates suggest the team is actively listening and making meaningful improvements to both their operations and offerings. If you're willing to time your visit around their bread drops and embrace the evolving nature of the place, there's something worth discovering here.

Tldr: no respect for their customer's time. Opening time is 8:30 (though doors remained closed, salt bread is stocked at 9am). 1 star back because they do make decent salt bread. If you're here for salt bread there's a 4 piece limit, 2 original, 1 mentaiko and 1 sour cream and onion specifically. Even though it's a soft opening, I expect accurate opening hours. They're supposed to open at 8:30, so I showed up a little earlier. There's already a small line even at 8:25 (pictured). The line only grows because even at 8:50, no signs of opening even though they've actually turned the open light on at 8:30. Edit: they opened the doors on the dot at 9am, so they really need to change their hours? I didn’t know about the limit. Though on second look it’s on their official instagram. I originally planned to get 6 to bring to our picnic with friends but that's not possible. The bread itself is fine. Salt bread is delicious normally, this is normal salt bread. The other sweets I got very just ok. On par with other Asian bakeries. Probably won't come back.

Top quality ingredients, yes. However, the taste was not that memorable. The salt bread was the main attraction, but it was almost raw and uncooked in the middle. The butter bar was very dry. Everything is extremely over priced and the sizes of pastries were too small.

Update: I revisited again and saw the store made many changes, all good changes. It’s much more organized and they started making a lot more of their famous salt bread. Changing my review from 3 star to 5 star. Please keep up with the great work! Original: Saw the long line during weekend waiting for salt bread. Decided to try during weekday. Got there at 9 am, no line (thankfully). But the original salt bread is gone already LOL. Onion flavor and mentaiko flavor is available and I got one each. Very rich flavor. The service is not good bc they set the rules about limit one each for the flavored salt bread but no sign is put up and they just try to tell people manually. I saw people not following the rules (which to be fair makes sense since no sign is there) but they were able to purchase it while the rest of us were told no you can only take one. (I assume this is also why no original salt bread is left even at 9 am) They need to be clear about rules if there is actually one. Bc of the experience, I don’t quite recommend it yet. They should figure out how to produce enough food if that’s their specialty. 1 star for service and “rule that doesn’t really exist”, and 5 star for the bread.

You don't need to wait in line for the packaged bread, the line outside is just waiting for the next batch of salt bread. When I went around noon they only had the mentaiko and green onion ones coming out at 11:30, and the plain salt bread was refilling at 3pm. I didn't stay to wait for the plain flavor but the mentaiko and green onion ones were really tasty, especially fresh out of the oven. The green onion cream was slightly sweet and filled the bread so if you prefer more savory and less heavy you might like the mentaiko more.

It seems newly opened, but the food leans towards Asian flavors. Like Mentaiko bum, pineapple bum , matcha flavor ….etc. We saw it while having lunch next door, so we went in and bought some bread. I bought mochi balls, lemon cake, toast and cookies. ** overnight will not test good , finish in the same day if possible !! ** Next time I want to try the strawberry shortcake; it looks amazing.
