Sun Cafe

Crema's Take
“Sun Cafe is a Vietnamese-Vietnamese hybrid spot that does double duty beautifully, serving both exceptional bánh mì sandwiches and Vietnamese iced coffee that keeps regulars coming back. The menu leans into traditional flavors with grilled pork and char siu options that pair perfectly with their cold brew, while creative touches like hibiscus tea with chia seeds show they're not afraid to surprise you. It's the kind of neighborhood gem that works equally well for a quick caffeine fix or a leisurely lunch with family before an appointment.”

Just noticed this cafe nearby my job . I want Pho and coffee real bad today . I had veggie Pho #6 . I love it . Broth is good too . And Vietnamese ice coffee . And chicken Bumi to go for my next meal . Big portion of my middle so I took half of it Home . A young man works there in the front . He is nice . His name is Tri . Lady chief also nice 😊 Nice and clean , casual dining room. Peaceful , good to eat alone here .
needed a quick bite and this place offered both of what I was looking for: bánh mì and coffee. saw that they had variety of flavors so I went w the grilled pork and char siu, or Chinese style BBQ pork. normally I'd get the traditional cold cuts but not every place do the full trimmings so I would rather avoid the disappointment. the grilled pork was good. not very packed. smaller bread than your foot baguette. flavor were more lemongrass, pan fried rather than fire grilled...which was fine. everyone has their own method. just not as traditional to what I'm used to but it was enjoyable. the char siu tasted homemade. on the lighter side in flavor. not as savory & sweet as if you were to buy it from Chinatown. easily overlooked by the grilled pork. the coffee. very strong, aromatic coffee flavor. not too sweet or bitter. not as thick as I would like it from the condensed milk. a bit on the frothier side. still one of the better I've tasted in the area. I may come back to try their main dishes dining in but for a quick bite, Sun Cafe did their job. the gentleman was friendly and helpful. the area is split off for take-out and dine in. cleaned, modern restroom. I hope this establishment will stick around!
My daughter and I stopped in for lunch while waiting for a nearby appointment. I ordered the Char Siu BBQ Pork Bahn Mi and Vietmanese Iced Coffee and my daughter ordered Grilled Pork Bahn Mi and Jasmine Oolong Iced Tea. We swapped halves of our Bahn Mi sandwiches so I got to try both. They were amazing. Easily the best Bahn Mi I've had in a long time. The bagettes were just perfect, and the sandwiches were very flavorful and bright. I did like the Char Siu the best. Also they were quite large. I loved my Vietnamese Coffee. The young man that was our server was very friendly and helpful. He offered my daughter a taste of the tea to be sure she would like it. The tea had a very intense flavor and was amazing, but I appreciate that he wanted to be sure it was what she was expectiing. I highly recommend the Sun Cafe. Looking forward to going back to try some of the other menu options. AAA+++
Wow where to begin. I found Sun Cafe a few weeks ago-- the bahn mi spot i used to go to by my house closed and I was looking for somewhere new. This spot was closest. I didn't have any crazy expectations - never had a bad bahn mi before - so I went here not thinking much of it. As soon as I picked up my food and left the store, I took a sip of the iced coffee I got and nearly shed a tear. It was so so so good. I am not even exaggerating. When I got home and opened my take out order I was first surprised by how lovely everything was packaged. It's not something I usually notice but you could tell the attention to detail and care here. I got a tofu bahn mi, my husband got the pork, and we got some tofu summer rolls to share. Everything was incredible. It was so fresh and flavorful. The bread for the bahn mi was perfectly fluffy with the crunchy crust. The sauces were perfect, and the herbs were very fresh. I have been craving it since this first time we went so we went back again today, and had a repeat fantastic experience. So far, we've only gotten take out but the shop itself is very cute and I would love to dine in next time. The staff are always very kind and friendly! Hoping to try their pho or noodle dishes next time. I tell everyone I possibly can to go visit this spot. It is a treasure!! Please excuse my photos, I;m not a professional and they can't do it justice.
Amazing place! Can’t wait for the verimicelli noodles to be officially added. The hibiscus tea had chia in it that was a great surprise! So tasty. The pork banh mi was great. The vegan summer rolls I just wish they added carrot or cucumber and maybe a mint leaf would add so much to it. I also wish the peanut sauce had little peanuts in it. Otherwise everything was great !
