Crema's Take

This isn't your typical coffee shop—it's a pie-focused destination where the real stars are handcrafted creations like the Ebony and Ivory pie (so good that a professional pastry chef called it one of the best desserts she's ever made) and buttermilk pie so worth the trip that customers bike miles out of their way. While the coffee takes a supporting role to the incredible pastries, the warm, slow-paced atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to linger over a traditional or specialty drink alongside a slice that'll genuinely surprise you with its flavor and texture. Fair warning: the pies come with premium pricing, but regulars agree the quality justifies every penny.

My husband and I shared: - Dapper Apple / Lord of the Pies - Muffin Man - Drunken Nut I couldn't pick a favorite between the apple and blueberry pies. They were both fantastic. The pecan pie wasn't my favorite, but that's true in general (we got it for my husband). I'm usually more of a cobbler person than a pie person, but this place is fantastic. It's a must try in Dallas!

These were very good, however a tad bit expensive. Not sure if I should expect to pay just about 20 bucks for two pieces of pie or not, however it was a bit more than what we were thinking. The pie was very good, but we might not go back due to the price. But maybe if you were a big pie person you would find it worth it.

Delicious pies. Biked 7 miles to try my first buttermilk pie. 100% worth it. Also tried the Honey Peanutbutter pie along with a scoop of ice cream. Highly highly recommend, pies here are incredible.

The Ebony and Ivory pie was one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten, and I’m a harsh critic having made hundreds of desserts myself. Texture of the filling was smooth and not too sweet even with the Nutella, and the crackly top added textural variation. The crust was flaky, buttery, and fresh tasting. My partner and I gobbled the slice up so fast! Rod was SO nice to deal with. He really hooked us up. Looking forward to our next visit to Deep Ellum. We’ll definitely be back at Emporium trying more pie.

🥧 Emporium Pies – Dessert Heaven in Dallas! 🍫🍰 Right next door to Pecan Lodge BBQ, we stumbled into Emporium Pies—and wow, what a sweet surprise! We tried two slices: Smooth Operator -The Chocolate Silk with a pretzel crust– rich, smooth, and absolutely yahmilicious (yes, that’s a word now)! The Mellow Yellow - A Cheesecake with a ginger snap crust – my wife’s favorite. The creamy filling paired perfectly with the zesty bite of the crust. Each slice is about $8, and if you want to take home a whole pie, you're looking at around $42–$50. Totally worth it for the quality and flavor. If you’re ever in the area, this place is a must after some BBQ! Whether you're team chocolate or team cheesecake, you won’t be disappointed. 🎥 Don’t forget to check out our full experience on our YouTube channel, It’s All About Food & Places – and hit that subscribe button with the black bell icon to catch our video when it drops.
