Crema's Take

This beloved Royal Hawaiian outpost pairs a curated gourmet marketplace with a welcoming coffee counter, creating the perfect spot to grab a freshly baked pastry and expertly pulled espresso while browsing artisanal goods. The in-house bakery and kitchen shine through in every bite, and the friendly staff keeps the pace quick despite the steady stream of both locals and Japanese tourists seeking quality refreshment. It's the kind of place where you're equally happy lingering over a cappuccino as you are picking up a gift from their thoughtfully stocked shelves.

Pretty nice place for a quick-bite and refreshers. Seemed to be an extremely popular shopping place for Japanese tourists. The merchandise vibe is proximal to that of William Sonoma's.

Great atmosphere and friendly servers. Probably good for coffee and in store purchases. Had a caprese melt and it was so much all over. Tasted average but the insides were just spread out. Was expecting it to be much more contained. Also had mocha frappe without coffee - so chocolate shake. It was all slushy - would have liked a bit more liquidy/creamy so it’s easy to drink.

Cute coffee and breakfast shop in Royal Hawaiian. The staff is nice and service is fast. There’s of items to look around at while you wait in their gift shop. They have things you can order like pastries or bagels or ready-made to go items. They have tables right outside the shop to eat. The coffee is delicious but it is pricey. We decided to order bagels with cream cheese. Be prepared to have sweet cream cheese no matter the flavor. Tbh it was a little disappointing because I like to have savory (lemon dill) and sweet (Ube) so I got two different flavors thinking it would be savory but it was not. The bagels were good though, I especially liked the spinach cheese one!

I’m so happy this location is finally open! I stopped by once during construction when they didn’t even have an espresso machine yet, so it was really nice to come back and experience the full store as it was meant to be. The space looks great, and there’s so much to browse — from merchandise to specialty items — which makes it feel more like an experience rather than just a quick coffee stop. The coffee itself was truly excellent, easily a 10 out of 10 and absolutely worth the visit. However, the wait time was pretty frustrating. We ended up waiting almost 20 minutes just to get our drinks, and it seemed like there was only one person handling everything, which made the process feel slow and a bit disorganized. The pastries also weren’t that great — just okay and not very memorable. I will say, I do still prefer the Dean & DeLuca at the Ritz-Carlton. It’s more convenient for me since I’m usually staying at the Ritz, and their service is noticeably faster. While they don’t have as much merchandise or variety to browse, the efficiency and smoother experience make it feel less stressful when you’re just trying to grab a great coffee. Overall, I’m happy for the convenience and excited that this location is fully open, but the long wait times were definitely frustrating. Once the service improves, this could become an even better spot — especially with how fantastic the coffee is.

Dean & Deluca Hawaii is such a great spot in Waikiki. The food is incredibly delicious and super fresh. They bake everything themselves, and you can really taste it. We had the pastrami sandwich, a cheese sandwich, a croissant, coffee, and lemonade. Everything was insanely good, especially the croissant — it just melted in the mouth. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, and the whole place feels inviting. I highly recommend it because it’s really rare to find a place this good, especially in such a touristy area.
