Fabulous Market

Crema's Take
“This Ethiopian-family owned market strikes a wonderful balance between being a genuine neighborhood gathering spot and a serious coffee destination, with regulars who swing by twice a week for their perfectly pulled double espressos. Beyond the expertly crafted coffee, you'll find thoughtfully prepared breakfast options and sandwiches (the Italian sub gets particular love) that go beyond typical café fare, plus the kind of practical touches—fresh juices, chocolates, even toiletries—that make it feel like a real community hub rather than just another caffeine stop. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a quick grab before a road trip or a leisurely family breakfast, with enough genuine care in both the coffee and food that you'll understand why locals make it a twice-weekly habit.”

We struggle to find things to eat for our kid who's gluten and dairy-free. We were staying in a nearby hotel and checked out this place for breakfast. My husband ordered a breakfast "sandwich" with no bread and no cheese. In addition to always having to pay for extra ingredients everywhere we go due to living like this, he charged us $1 EXTRA for a "custom order".
This family-owned market in DC is a real hidden gem! The coffee is always fresh and flavorful, and the sandwiches are out of this world. Their Italian sub is a must-try—loaded with quality ingredients and packed with flavor. Friendly vibes, quick service, and everything feels made with care. Perfect spot for a coffee break or a hearty lunch, I’ll definitely keep coming back!
Cute place with nice options for lite breakfast and sandwiches. Stopped for coffee on our way out of town - needed the fuel for a road trip. Was very disappointed to find coffee were only filled 2/3. She didn’t ask if we wants room for cream or anything. Just gave us 3 cups at 2/3 when we paid for a full cup.
Always when I am around - usually twice a week - come for great double espresso (TAC coffee). Sometimes I take delicious salads and Egg, Cheese & Bacon. I love this Ethiopian-family owned place!
Best café! Cheap and great breakfast and necessities like toothpaste, juices, chocolates, pre-made sandwiches, etc. I came almost every morning during my stay at the Melrose and ordered usually the same sandwiches (bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel -plain unless they run out then everything bagel). I also tried the sausage/egg/cheese which was also good! It was definitely filling for a few hours for both me and my brother. They also had them nicely wrapped in foil and put in a paper bag to carry. Very sweet people and would totally come again! I joined their points system as well ☺️😊
