Asensio Coffee

What a lovely discovery during our (too) short visit in Tacoma! We had coffee here every morning, breakfast on two of them. My husband simply inhaled his breakfast burrito, and my avocado toast was bursting with flavor. The coffee was delicious, definitely some of the best I've ever had in the Seattle area and that's saying something. The employees were utterly delightful, very kind in putting up with my twittering on about various and sundry subjects. The interior is cozy and comfortable, with a completely unexpected and beautiful fireplace in the corner. The vibe is very chill and welcoming - I would make this *my* coffee shop did I not live on the East Coast. Absolutely recommended!

Go to Starbucks if you like espresso! There was no detectable Chocolate in my mocha!

Asensio Coffee is a cozy gemstone that needs more recognition. I ordered a specialty tea. It was good but not exactly what I was looking for. Since they’re in the same strip as my office I went back down to order something else and as I’m ready to pay they tell me “nope, no charge. You didn’t get what you wanted last time this is on us.” It was very unexpected but very kind and just made my morning even better. Every time I go in everyone always has a smile and is very friendly. They always compliment me on my outfits. They’re all just lovely people who deserve to be told they are wonderful. Thank you Asensio Coffee. You guys ROCK!!

My boyfriend and I frequent the BECU ATM nearby every so often and if Asensio Coffee is open then we will stop by. They have seasonal specials which is always a win for my boyfriend and I as we love trying out new specials. The staff here greeted us warmly and was very patient with the customer before us who was buying a gift card and helped us with the same professionalism and friendliness. We stopped by recently to grab their fall drinks and I saw on the sign that the drink I chose pairs well with a pumpkin spice whipped cream. It is extra so I decided against it. We found a spot to sit at while we waited for our drinks and not only did the employee hand delivered our drinks to us but told me she added the pumpkin spice whipped cream for me. I thought that was super sweet of her that makes the visit all the more special and reason to visit. They do also have a reward system that we joined too. The store is well maintained and there are plenty of seating and tables for all sorts of groups or sole patrons. They have some handcrafted goods to buy as well. We asked if they were dog friendly and they said dogs are welcome so we definitely will stop by more often as the weather gets colder.

Cute lil coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Came in with the sweetie for an afternoon out of the house. Delicious breakfast burritos. Looks like some seasonal items in rotation. The apple cider is tasty! Plenty of non-coffee drinks and a good selection of bakery items. Excellent price to quality ratio. The barista was very sweet and sold me on the wrapped cookies at the counter, after I found out they were vegan and hesitant to try them. It ended up being one of my favorites.
