Crema's Take
“Re:Bakesic is a pastel-hued San Gabriel spot that shines brightest for its creative tea-forward drinks like earl grey matcha and oolong pineapple bun, paired with thoughtfully crafted pastries like their hojicha pistachio scone that staff will warm up for you. The space hits that sweet spot between Instagram-worthy aesthetics and genuinely comfortable for lingering, making it ideal for a solo sit or meeting up with friends. Fair warning: portions can feel stingy for the price, and specialty milk upcharges add up quickly, so it's worth going in with realistic expectations about value.”

Wanted to give a chance to this new cafe around my area—totally regret it. I ended up ordering an iced latte with less ice, they gave me 3/4 of a drink which is ridiculous. I asked why and they said it’s their “policy” - but have the decency to warn me because paying $7 for that was insane. More than that, the drink tasted average at most. I also ordered an ube scone pastry, which looked good at first but was really dry and lacked flavor. Stick to better cafés that actually care about making decent sized & tasting drinks.
Cute place, but they charged 75 cents for alternative milks AND didn’t fill up the entire drink when I asked for less ice. I paid almost $30 for 2 drinks and a pastry, which is INSANE given how they won’t even have the decency to fill up the whole drink. Go to a different local coffee shop, the service is terrible and spend your money elsewhere.
Tried the earl grey matcha for the first time and I’m disappointed that it didn’t have a strong matcha taste :(. The concept of an earl grey matcha sounded so good to me but the matcha was really watered down and barely tasted like matcha. Idk if it’s bc I came when it was busy, which I came in the afternoon, but it was definitely not to my expectation. I wish it had a strong matcha taste, rather than it being watered down. The matcha was sadly not whisked properly either, in the pic before I mixed it, the drink had small chunks of matcha and even after it being mixed. Maybe I’ll come back another day and hopefully it changes my mind.
I would come here every week if I still live in this area! The oolong pineapple bun was divine and had the perfect flavor and texture. The earl grey matcha was delicious as well, as both tea flavors were very distinct yet worked so well together. The baked good and drink were both well done and not too sweet. The space was warm, bright, and airy, and the service was friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking behind and across from the shop. Looking forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu!
Super cute venue with pastel color theme, offering convenient chillin space. For my first visit I tried their Hojicha Pistachio scone. As I had it on the spot, they offered to warm it up, which made me scored just extra point for them. The scone came with that slight crunch outside and moist cakey texture inside. The hojicha flavor was kinda subtle and I could taste it more when I had the scone without the pistachio topping. Despite I loved the pistachio cream with knafeh pastry on top, for my palate hojicha and pistachio cream seemed to be good on its own but not really blended well together. Overall taste wise I would say it's okay-ish, but I might pay another visit because of the vibe or prolly to try their Kinako Matcha.
