Crema's Take

Shaka Donuts brings a refreshingly modern, curated energy to Orlando's donut scene with standout creations like their blueberry cream cheese and pumpkin pie varieties that feel genuinely special rather than mass-produced. Beyond the exceptional donuts, they've smartly layered in cold brew coffee and ice cream sandwiches, creating a versatile spot that works equally well for a quick morning grab or a lingering treat with family.

If you haven’t been to Shaka Donuts, you’re missing out! Not only are the donuts absolutely delicious, but they also serve ice cream which made our decision easy. We went with a donut ice cream sandwich, and it was the perfect sweet treat for the night. And the coffee was just as impressive and the perfect complement to dessert. What truly made the experience special, though, was Tam, the owner. Tam was an absolute delight. She took the time to chat with us while we enjoyed our treats, making us feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated. Great desserts, great coffee, and even better hospitality. We’ll definitely be back! 🍩✨

Had this blueberry cream cheese donut, that was magically delicious. The soft airy donut with fluffy cream cheese and this purple topping made me feel like I haven't had a donut in years it was amazing great start to my week long birthday. Also the woman who greeted me was amazing and nice will definitely return for a 730am donut!

First time really trying the donuts since I moved to Orlando, Florida since living in Rhode Island and let me just tell you They are amazing the blueberry one in particular along with the pumpkin pie and the apple pie desserts along with the original glazed doughnut. These are some of the best donuts I’ve tried here and I definitely think you should try them too.

Shaka Donuts is a trendy, clean-lined spot that leans into a crisp, modern aesthetic. It feels curated rather than casual, with a quiet confidence that comes from knowing exactly what it wants to be: a boutique stop for specialty donuts, not an everyday bakery. Service is typically handled by a single person at the counter, following the early morning preparation and donut creations. That lean operation gives the shop an intimate feel, though it also underscores its limits when even a modest flow of customers arrives. The current is usually slow, matching the calm tone of the space. The donuts themselves favor seasonal and creative offerings, more specialty than daily staples. They are thoughtfully made, but the prices are higher, encouraging restraint rather than indulgence. This is not a place that invites you to buy by the dozen; it is a place where you choose one or two and move on. The coffee is surprisingly good and, notably, comes with refills—an uncommon gesture in a shop of this style. They also offer breakfast sandwiches, which I found genuinely satisfying and a welcome complement to the sweets. I was able to sit, enjoy my food, and work for a while, though with the limited seating, it felt as if lingering too long might impose on the space. The room is slim, designed more for turnover than for settling in. Shaka succeeds within its niche, but that niche is narrow. I find myself wishing for a broader variety of donuts, a lower price point that would encourage abundance rather than caution, and more ample seating, both inside and out. Those changes could transform it from a pleasant stop into a true neighborhood staple. As it stands, Shaka Donuts is a solid option for a thoughtful treat and a good cup of coffee—enjoyable, but not compelling enough to seek out often. My rating: ★★★☆☆ 1 star — I will never return. 2 stars — If nearby, I might return, but without urgency. 3 stars — Worth a visit if in the area, though not a destination in itself. 4 stars — Worth going out of your way to enjoy. 5 stars — I would fly around the world for this meal.

Stopped into Shaka Donuts on Curry Ford early one morning around 8:15 a.m. on my way home. The shop was empty at the time, no one behind the counter when I first walked in, but someone popped out from the kitchen within a few seconds. The young lady who came out was polite but couldn’t really answer my questions about the donut breakfast sandwich, so she went to get someone from the back who was able to help and finalize my order. I ordered the Maple Bacon Donut, the Samoa Donut, and a Donut Breakfast Sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese. The Maple Bacon Donut was a bit of a disappointment for me, but the Samoa Donut was fantastic, sweet, rich, and full of flavor. The breakfast sandwich was really good; warm, gooey, and the perfect mix of sweet and savory, with soft, fluffy eggs. The shop itself is cute and inviting, with cheerful colors and a fun vibe. They also serve ice cream, and although it was too early for it to be out, the flavors on display looked great, we’ll definitely stop back in to try some. As I was leaving, I overheard someone ordering the Boston Cream Pie Donut, so that’s on my list for next time! All in all, a friendly local spot with some great options. A few small tweaks and it would easily be a 5-star experience.
