Kohi Coffee Company
40 Berkeley St, Boston, MA
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside the Revolution Hotel, Kohi serves genuinely excellent espresso in a surprisingly chill, hip setting that feels more like a secret lounge than a typical café. The experience hinges heavily on who's behind the bar—when baristas like Aziz are on duty, you'll get warm recommendations and creative drinks like their signature Nola latte, but solo shifts can mean slower service and variable hospitality. If you can catch them on a good day, the quality beans and thoughtful specialty drinks make it worth hunting down in that hotel lobby.”

Don't understand the low ratings for this KOHI compared to the Brighton staple location. Great beans, quick service, and a very chill atmosphere in a rather hip Hotel lobby. Is it a Hotel lobby? Yeah sure. But please tell me where to find a better third space that isn't a pricey, fully-crammed bar in this town. Grab a rather amazing coffee, find a spot on the many comfy couches and chairs, and read/work/hang/whatever. 10/10 IMO.
I don’t know how people find the barista unfriendly. Like someone mentioned, there must be more than one barista. I stopped by for the first time, I was feeling for an iced drink, asked for his recommendation and had a single origin cold brew which was terrific with a hint of sweetness just like he said. A perfect afternoon coffee. Sweet potato Parmesan scone was bit salty to my liking but an interesting flavor combo. We also had a nice chat about the chocolate bars from Iceland it sells. I will definitely go back. Overall rating of 3.6 is not right; I almost skipped this cafe.
1 star for Kohi Coffee Company. I expected more from the place — it felt a bit dirty and neglected. The service was terrible and completely unprofessional. While steaming the milk, the barista was scrolling through Instagram. The coffee was bad, I couldn’t even drink it. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
You have to go inside the Revolution Hotel to find the coffee shop. There’s usually only one person working there, and it might take them some time to acknowledge your existence. Prices are a little high and surprisingly, they don’t have vanilla as a flavor option. They have counter seating; however, the counters are too high for the stools and it makes it uncomfortable. Plus, they’re too narrow to use a laptop. And this is the only coffee shop I know where the only sweetener they offer is Equal. I prefer Splenda, and hence, will go to one of the many other options in the area.
Kohi Coffee has amazing coffee and service! The barista Aziz is always exceptionally friendly and never fails to make me feel welcomed! He recommended the Nola latte and now it’s become my regular go to! He is also really great at latte art which is a definite plus! If you’re looking for a place to have some great coffee and service, I highly recommend coming here!
