The Coffee Trader
2566 Patterson Rd UNIT A, Grand Junction, CO
Crema's Take
“This welcoming Grand Junction spot strikes a nice balance between efficiency and comfort, with a drive-thru for quick caffeine runs and genuinely cozy seating that invites you to linger with your laptop for hours. The staff consistently earns praise for their friendliness and attentiveness, though you'll want to grab your drip coffee earlier in the day when it's fresh and hot. It's the kind of place that works equally well whether you're passing through town or settling in for a productive afternoon—just skip the afternoon drip if you're particular about your brew.”

To set the scene, I come in through the drive thru around 5:30pm and I asked for iced chai with marshmallow and a hot drink as well. I go to the window and they made both hot drinks, so I politely tell her the chai was supposed to be iced. She said “oh ok” and took the drink back and then came back with the “iced” drink super fast. I receive the drink and there is like 3 ice cubes on the top. So at this point I just take it and leave and I start drinking it, it’s the most warm/lukewarm “iced” drink I’ve ever received! Then like an hour later my stomach is hurting so bad it feels like I’m gonna puke, and I am not lactose intolerant so I don’t understand why it was so painful. They must’ve took the hot drink and just poured it over ice or something, I don’t think I’m ever going back again. Cause this is like the 2nd time they’ve messed up an iced drink, not a hot drink, an iced drink. Literally disappointed.
I stopped on my way out of town on a cross country trip. The staff and service was great. My coffee was hot hot,hot and delicious! Thanks!
The staff is nice, the shop is clean, but the drip coffee in the afternoon is always cold. I have come here 5 or 6 times between 3 and 4pm to get a regular coffee and it is always luke warm at best. Disappointing that a coffee shop doesn't serve a hot cup of regular coffee. I am going to have to choose a different place for afternoon fix.
I recently visited The Coffee Trader in Grand Junction, and overall, it was a good experience. The coffee was pretty decent—not the best I’ve had, but still enjoyable. The customer service was okay, nothing too remarkable, but what really stood out for me was the atmosphere. The vibe of the place is fantastic—it's vibrant, lively, and has a great energy that makes you want to hang around for a while. It’s a great spot to unwind, meet with friends, or just take in the local scene. If you’re in the area and want a place with a fun, upbeat vibe, The Coffee Trader is worth a stop!
There is plenty of space inside and it's relatively quiet for a coffee shop. The chairs are super comfy if you need to stop in and work for a while. A purchase is required to occupy a seat and wifi is limited to 2 hours/2GB per purchase. I couldn't get the wifi to work at all but with all the windows my hotspot worked fine. Their drinks are very good with a high quality bean. It's worth a stop in!
