Three Tarts Bakery & Cafe

Crema's Take
“Three Tarts Bakery & Cafe in Wilmette is a charming neighborhood spot where the real star is the house-made pastries and cakes—customers rave about them so much they come back just to relive the experience. The vibe is genuinely welcoming with friendly staff and owner Kate at the helm, making it an ideal place to linger over a coffee and a malted chocolate cookie or grab a quick breakfast, though you'll want to ask about pricing since it's not always posted.”

Second cake we’ve ordered - the first was so good it was the only thing I remembered from the event and couldn’t wait for an opportunity to order again! Second was equally delicious and the service was unmatched. Would recommend and would love to try something else, but the chocolate buttercream is too good to get anything else!
Honestly, the food is good but I usually get the Spa Salad and it’s nice. However, today I ordered a BLT and what a mistake. How can you justify charging any money for a BLT, which is essentially lots of lettuce bread and tomato, with the occasional bacon bite. My review is not a negative on Three Tarts as whole, it’s just a fair warning ⚠️. DON’T GET THE BLT.
It's a cute little cafe. The staff is extremely friendly. But there are no prices listed. I know I'm a lowly carpenter working in a rich neighborhood but geeze. Order the oatmeal special and it had no texture. You could have drank it with a straw. Holiday Inn has better two-day old oatmeal.
I was there with a friend, we didn't have much expectations walking in, but man, were they good. The service was friendly and quick, and they had a ton of dessert/bakery options to try. We tried their Carrot cake, Shortbread cookies, Almond Tart and also a salad, and a couple sandwiches. The sandwiches were okay, but their bakery options(especially the shortbread cookies) are to die for. I can't wait to go back.
Three Tarts Bakery & Cafe really surprised me. Their owner, Kate, is super friendly, and their malted chocolate cookies are insanely good. They also sell some great savory sandwiches. My girlfriend Lauren has a severe nut allergy, and they are super good with food allergies marking this bakery as one of the only places where she can eat. I will definitely swing by next time I am in town!
