I'm a regular here because Quills brings together everything I need in a coffee shop: kind, attentive staff; attractive, peaceful environment; great coffee.
The girls that worked behind the counter this morning were not friendly at all. I dont want fake friendly when I go to places, but at least some happy personality and the girls behind the counter had non. This location needs to train for customer service. Atmosphere was also pretty boring. Jtown location has been great, but when we went to this one before going to the boat/rv show I was not impressed at all.
We were staying in a house across the street that had a broken coffee maker, so this coffee shop was great. Then you get to know the baristas, and they are wonderful. The coffee shop looks great with a wide variety of drinks and food items. A lot of the clients seemed like regulars. We have coffee drinks to go and sit around and have it there. The one side of the coffee shop had sofas and comfortable chairs. We enjoyed coming here and coffee was excellent. I had regular coffee and espressos. The other guys had a variety of drinks and no complaints.
The new quills location is quaint. This spot has been renovated by quills. The modern interior is inviting for folks to work, meet and have a cup of coffee. You go in and order by the bakery case. The menu is there as well. They have specialty drinks listed as well. You order and they make the drink in front of you. They have options for mugs if you are staying in the location for your drink. I got the churro latte, a seasonal item. It was beautiful. It had a Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor to it in liquid form. There is ample seating, and the tables are fitting if you are meeting a group, or just hanging out with your computer. It was actually quiet given the number of people working there the day I visited. It’s a lovely neighborhood spot. I can’t wait to visit again.
This cafe has been open less than a week and has already easily become my favorite in the 'Ville. It has the same unsurpassed exceptional coffee and friendly service we've come to expect from every Quills, while being situated in a beautiful, recently-renovated older building. This gives the location lots of character and an abundance of natural light provided by the large, early 20th-century-style windows and doors, which also provide wonderful views of the beautiful Clifton neighborhood. A bonus feature of this location is a large back patio area. This will be the perfect "third place" for many to hang out, have a coffee, chat, or finish up a little work. It will be my go-to for sure.
