Crema's Take

Dick's Cafe is a Las Cruces institution since 1959 that draws loyal regulars back again and again for their green chile cheeseburger, barbecue brisket sandwich, and surprisingly excellent salsa and fries—this is genuine Southwest comfort food that prioritizes hearty satisfaction over presentation. The casual, family-friendly spot works equally well as a quick grab-and-go or a leisurely sit-down meeting place, though be prepared for that well-worn, no-frills atmosphere that comes with decades of history baked into the booths and counter seats.

Used to go there frequently. I ordered the same breakfast everyday. Three days in a row I ordered the same thing and evey day they charged me a different amount for the exact same breakfast. Quit going for years. Decided to give them a try again. They state they open at 8:00 a.m. so a friend and I made plans to meet there at 8. Well at 8:15 no one had opened the doors so we left. Just as lousy now as it was then.

The bbq brisket sandwich was delicious! The service was good, went in right after lunch rush so maybe she was a little tired nonetheless still good service. Overall great!

Dick's Cafe has been a Las Cruces institution since 1959. This is the green chile cheeseburger for the purist who appreciates history, tradition, and a hearty, satisfying meal over a fancy presentation. The flavor is a classic combination of fresh beef, melted American cheese, and New Mexico's most famous ingredient. If you're looking for a reliably great, true-to-Cruces green chile cheeseburger experience, Dick's Cafe is essential eating.

Absolutely the best Hamburger place in Southwest NM. We ate here often when in college, I make extra effort to go whenever I'm in the area. Salsa, Fries are the BEST. Love this place!!

Green enchiladas were delicious, rice was okay but the beans sucked. Tried my mom’s quesadillas and tasted fine. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Like, bad truck-stop bad. Worse than a 7-11. Besides that, it was a fine experience. Most likely won’t eat here again, but it’s still a cute place to visit.
