Had a family vacation in Philly. Did not do any research before entering this bakery. Surprised that the associate asked us what to buy in Cantonese... Well, I would say,,, "thank you for keeping Cantonese alive!!!" Their buns and white sugar sponge cake (伦教糕/白糖糕) are very authentic. My grandma used to bring me to yum cha and ordered white sugar sponge cakes every time. Their cakes taste the same as those I had when I was a kid and remind me of my mama...

my favorite of the chinatown bakeries for roast pork buns & pork floss. go early in the morning. they generally don't use a lot of individual plastic wrapping compared to other places, though have started to a bit more, and i would encourage them to avoid it.

The roast pork SMACKED. Loved the trip to this bakery for our morning snacks. Flakey, filling, and perfect for a bite. These were so good fresh I'm literally states away and have been thinking abt them everyday since I've left 😔💔. Will definitely have to return !! (photo taken after I took a big chomp and remembered to take a pic of the filling lol there was plenty inside them)

The walnut pastry/cookie (核桃酥) is amazing! Perfect sweet, buttery and crunchy! And it is huge!!!
