Crema's Take
“Medina River Coffee is an espresso-focused gem where the baristas treat every drink like an art form, even adding delicate latte art to your to-go cup and crafting inventive rotating latte flights that invite you to explore unexpected flavor combinations. The welcoming crew genuinely cares about their craft and their customers, making it the kind of intimate spot where you'll want to linger with a pastry for an hour, whether you're meeting a friend or discovering your next favorite coffee.”

This coffee shop truly cares about its coffee and drinks. I came here and recently tried their flat white with a double espresso. They even made latte art on top of my drink in a to-go cup, which is a great touch. Their espresso machine is a La Marzocco, which is impressive. However, the flat white seemed to be more of a latte for me with a bit too much foam. The sweetness was there, and the bitterness was low. Overall, it’s a good coffee shop to start your day, but it could improve its flat white recipe.
My sister and I love going to Medina River coffee. Since the first day we stopped in to get our coffee fix they’ve been super welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend going in and trying one of their ever changing flights. They change them with holidays or whatever is trending, like stranger things.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Their flights are my favorite!! There are so many interesting flavors I’ve never seen or heard of. They are not all good, but that is part of the fun. I just love trying the new flavors. I will say there’s not a ton of seating and sometimes it takes a while for the drinks, but everyone there is really nice. I would definitely recommend everybody goes to try a holiday or seasonal flight at some point.
Medina River has both the standard coffee and latte selection, as well as a rotating selection of (single or flight) unique lattes. Has friendly staff and a responsible amount of staying. Delicious food like jalapeño kolaches and home-made carrot cake muffins (pictured). While it roasts it's own coffee beans, it serves a different role (and has different selection) in the local community from What's Brewing. I highly recommend this location above many other coffee establishments in San Antonio, Texas
Visited this place on a Saturday afternoon. There was only one other customer inside when we arrived but during the time we were there which was about an hour people were coming and going. It is a small business in a small shopping center and you have to be looking for it. The business is definitely community oriented. Inside is small although there is seating for inside and outside service. The help was friendly and we noticed them constantly cleaning. The unisex bathroom was okay. The business offers a variety of drinks and food and pastries including kolaches, baked goods, avocado on toast, and some non-caffeinated coffee, lemonade and ice cream. The prices are very reasonable. Our two Americano espressos coffees came to $7.50 total. There is seating against the window looking out across the small parking lot and with a great view of airplanes arriving in San Antonio. It's a nice place to visit if you're looking for some quiet time, quiet thoughts or to spend some quiet time with that special person.
