Even Keel

Just a heads up, this is not a coffee shop. And they only serve cold brew. With that being said I arrived expecting to sit down at a coffee shop, have some coffee and do some work. I showed up and it is located inside of the Michi ramen off to the right. I was greeted by the owner of Even Kill, Evan. He explained to me that it was not a coffee shop and that he just sold cold brew. I asked what was so special about his cold brew and he said that it is the best in Austin, then I tried some. It is in fact the best cold brew that I have had here in Austin. I got to speak to him for a while, it was a pleasant conversation learning about his cold brew business.

Evan personalized my drink perfectly. He let me test the amount of cold brew I could handle before adding the milk to make the perfect ratio for myself. He also let me hang in the ramen shop early in the morning while I waited for a DMV appointment which was down the street. It was overall a fun and kind experience!

I made an amount just to leave this review. By far the best cold brew I’ve ever had. The owner is so knowledgeable and took the time to customize the strength of each persons drink and let us taste test before he made the drinks. He then used cold brew ice cubes so the drinks don’t get watered down. I would 100% recommend for anyone who like cold brew coffee!

My favorite and go-to spot for real caffeine. Nothing like a simple menu. ColdBrew+concentrate and if you want sweet cream. It’s there. And he freezes cold brew so as your drink melts .. it just gets tastier. And the owner is super cool and loves his craft. Which just makes the experience better. Can’t recommend this place enough. I’d go before 11am while he’s there for the best experience but the Michi ramen staff also serves his drinks

The best ice coffee I ever had. This is a low key place located inside a corner of a Ramen restaurant, but don't let appearances fool you. The quality of his coffee and the attentiveness of the owner deserved the 5 star rating. He adjusted the strength of the coffee concentrate with local spring water and gave samples until it was to my liking, then did the same with the sweetness level from his in-house vanilla creamer. He also freezes the coffee to use as the ice cubes so the drink doesn't get watered down. Will definitely come back when I am back in Austin.
