Crema's Take
“This thoughtfully designed roastery in Las Cruces feels like it was made for lingering, with a spacious layout featuring couches and communal tables that invite you to stay awhile. The espresso-focused menu showcases meticulous pour overs and specialty drinks that earn serious praise from serious coffee travelers, plus their pastries (especially the cinnamon scrolls) are worth the visit alone. Fair warning: those train tracks outside add character, and while the coffee is genuinely excellent, you might want to skip the food and stick to what they do best.”

I have been ordering coffee from Roasters around the United States for long as there have been independent roasters. I discovered this shop during my most recent visit to Las Cruces. Excellent coffee, great variety of single origin coffees and talented baristas. Highly recommended.
Picacho Coffee Roasters is one of those spots that immediately feels thoughtful and well put together without trying too hard. The space is huge—couches, communal tables, and plenty of room to settle in whether you’re working, meeting up, or just hanging out. It genuinely functions as a co-working space, which is rare to see executed this well in a coffee shop. There’s a lot happening here in the best way: they sell records, infused coffee beans, merch, and even fresh sourdough loaves, giving the place a curated, community-driven vibe. The music sealed the deal—hip-hop with strong Common / A Tribe Called Quest energy—setting a relaxed, soulful tone that makes you want to stay awhile. Coffee-wise, I ordered the matcha with oat milk and it was smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. Quality clearly matters here. Service was another standout: warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly without feeling forced. They also have a bakery case with assorted items (note for fellow vegans: bakery items are not vegan), though the drink options themselves are still accommodating. Overall, Picacho Coffee Roasters is a great spot for quality coffee, good music, and a space that actually invites you to linger. I’ll definitely be back.
Trying local coffee locations during a road trip is a priority for this family and this spot is our new go-to in Las Cruces. Don't let the train tracks dismay you from finding this gem! I noticed as I drove up the roof top vent emitting smoke and excitedly rolled down the car windows to enjoy the aroma of freshly roasted beans. I'm used to tiny trailers converted into a coffee stand, not roasted in house. We went twice this visit and will go again next time!
The coffee was great, it was almost a good experience till the avocado toast hit my table. It was spread with a very thin layer of supposedly avocado but there’s nothing avocado about it. It’s a sourdough with pickles (at least it tasted like that) yeah it was bad. Most of the tables were around the restroom which sometimes gives the smell stronger than the coffee. Maybe it’s a good place to get coffee to go!
Very Best coffee in our whole road trip!! In over 3000 miles. Sooooooo great, with real milk, or oat milk option as well. Cinnamon scroll is incredible, cookies are amazing! Ripping into the sourdough loaf as we drive, so great, made fresh on promises, still warm, yummy crunchy crust. You will be so pleased you stopped here, thank you beautiful staff for your happy outlook
