Crema's Take

This Hoboken spot shines brightest for its creative signature drinks and weekend pastry program—regulars rave about the cinnamon swirl lattes and homemade Friday pop tarts that keep them coming back. While execution can be inconsistent and the minimalist decor won't wow you, Mojo carves out its niche with playful options like the Coconut Joy latte and a solid matcha tea menu that appeals beyond just coffee purists.

Tried the homemade pop tarts they have on Fridays! So yummy. Also delicious lattes— try the cinnamon swirl!

I’ve been to Mojo before, but this time I’ve had the worst experience. The barista who was taking my order at first didn’t understand that I was asking her to help me pick between coffee and matcha. The lady was rudely looking at me while I started asking my friend which one to pick. Went with matcha. So disgusting and gross behind the counter, not cleaning the espresso powder/grind. After they gave us our orders the first barista just sat on the counter of the drink making counter. That didn’t bother us until we tried our drinks. The color didn’t look right, and the matcha tasted sour even after ordering vanilla syrup and afterwards adding the simple syrup to try and fix it. Will not be coming back because of the staff, but the atmosphere is great.

Popped in here for a quick coffee. Tried the coconut joy latte which was pretty good! Decor is a little basic but overall not a bad little coffee shop.

The worst flat white I've ever tasted. It's not even a flat white at this point. A flat white should have a silky milk texture, this is just poorly frothed up milk poured on top of the espresso (literally, I just saw the barista just move it from cup to cup). And don't get me started on the actual coffee taste, it was just plain bitter.

Wish I could give this zero stars. I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Mojo Coffee Shop. Beyond being understaffed and clearly unorganized and messy behind the counter, the attitudes of the staff were abysmal. I ordered a regular cappuccino—something I’ve ordered countless times without issue at other cafes. To my surprise, the barista made a large cappuccino, using a single shot of espresso in an extra-large cup with way too much milk. When my order was called, I politely pointed out the mistake to the girl who took my order. Instead of addressing the issue, she looked at me as if I was the one at fault and said, “I thought you meant large.” I explained that I had asked for a regular cappuccino, not a large, and questioned why it was assumed otherwise. Her response? A blank stare—no apology, no offer to fix it, just an attitude that screamed indifference. So, here I am, paying for bad coffee and enduring even worse customer service. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Save your time, money, and patience—go elsewhere.
