Crema's Take

This charming Camp Hill spot feels like stepping into someone's kitchen, where owner Sophia and her team craft everything from scratch with genuine warmth and care—from cinnamon bun pancakes that rival bakeries to accommodating requests for allergies and dietary preferences without a hint of hassle. The slow-paced, convivial atmosphere is perfect for lingering over coffee and pastries with friends or family, and while waits can stretch a bit, that's the honest trade-off for food that's made fresh to order rather than sitting under heat lamps.

Everything on the menu is fabulous and they're very accommodating to allergies or vegetarian requests. Service can be a little slow - but everything is made upon being ordered & fresh, so wait times are to be expected.

I recently hosted a Sunday brunch gathering at Sophia’s at Walden, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing overall. We made our reservation two months in advance. From the start, there was pushback from the owner, who seemed very concerned about ensuring every reserved seat would be filled. I agreed to call and confirm our attendance a few days prior, which I did. During that confirmation, she informed me that guests would not be welcome unless they ordered food — which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming for a brunch reservation. I was also told our tables would be side by side rather than combined, which I agreed to in order to accommodate the space. However, when we arrived, our group of 12 was split even further, with a completely unrelated table placed between us. This made it difficult to talk as a group and took away from the entire purpose of meeting together. Most disappointing was the tone from the owner, who was not kind or welcoming throughout the process or on the day of the reservation. It made what should have been a relaxed Sunday brunch feel tense and uncomfortable. On a positive note, the structure and ambience of the space were nice, and our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The food was fair, but nothing particularly special. Overall, while the setting has potential, the handling of our reservation and the lack of warmth from ownership made this a difficult place to recommend for group brunches.

Sophia’s is such a special place. Sophia and her staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, and you can feel it the second you walk in. Everything is homemade and seriously delicious. The roast beef sandwich with the chicken pastina soup was perfect, and the ham special was amazing too. You can tell how much care goes into the food and the overall vibe. You can’t beat the live music while sitting outside in the summer!! It’s BYOB which is always a plus! Truly one of those places you keep coming back to. I can’t recommend Sophia and the beautiful place she’s poured her heart and soul into over the years enough!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding experience at Sophia’s at Walden! Sophia’s at Walden absolutely blew me away. I ordered the cinnamon bun pancakes with a side of sausage, and I’m not exaggerating when I say they were incredible—warm, perfectly sweet, and just the right kind of indulgent. The sausage was a perfect match, and the coffee was genuinely amazing (which is rare enough that it deserves its own shoutout). But what really makes this place special is the service. Every single person I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and on top of everything. And then they went above and beyond in a way you don’t see often anymore: after I left, they called to let me know I’d accidentally left my credit card. I had both of my little kids with me and they were asleep in the car, and instead of making me come back in, the owner actually came outside in the freezing cold and handed me my card—without me even having to get out of the car. That level of care is unforgettable. Amazing food, excellent coffee, and truly top-notch, thoughtful service. Sophia’s at Walden has earned a loyal customer for life. I can’t recommend it enough!

We had an AMAZING brunch this past weekend. This was a bit of a last minute decision for us, so we didn't have a reservation, but Sophia got us a table. Everyone was incredibly friendly and kind while we were there, from warm greetings when we walked in to friendly conversation. I also cannot say enough good things about the food, it was phenomenal. The quiche had the most amazing texture, the pastina was some of the best soup I've ever had, my boyfriend loved his omelette and said it was a great ratio of egg to filling. It was hard to pick what to eat because the menu had so many delicious sounding options. It definitely gets busy, we saw the tail end of Sunday brunch and we were still seeing food fly out the window at 1:15. The food is well worth the wait make a reservation!! We will definitely be coming back soon
