Wayward Pastry
4501 St Elmo Ave, Chattanooga, TN
Crema's Take
“Wayward Pastry is a butter-forward bakery in Chattanooga's St. Elmo neighborhood where the pastries—especially their legendarily flaky kouign amann and chocolate croissants—taste like they're made with an almost absurd commitment to quality ingredients. The airy patio and welcoming indoor space make it equally perfect for lingering over coffee with a friend or settling in with your laptop, all while being surrounded by the kind of baked goods that have reviewers genuinely amazed at what they're tasting.”

I’ve never had a kouign amann like that. This place is world class! I don’t know what kind of butter they use, but it tastes more like butter than anything else I’ve ever had. You know? And the cortado was delicious! Sweet staff, expertly crafted pastries!
Best bakery in town. Everything I’ve tried has been nothing short of amazing. Great seating indoor and out.
Great pastry’s and cool patio, a new star is shining in StElmo.
I've loved everything I've tried -- croissant, chocolate croissant, strawberry galette, and chocolate chip cookie. Great neighborhood spot in a really unique space.
We are so lucky to have them in the neighborhood! The pastries are delightful, highlights include the chocolate croissant and chocolate chip cookie, which is possibly the most enticing cookie I've ever seen. There are some fun options on the seasonal drinks menu. The espresso drinks aren't as strong as at Goodman's, but they hit the spot and the decor is so inviting.
