Crema's Take
“Brood is a passionate, owner-operated espresso bar where every cup reflects genuine care for quality—their Central American light roasts sing with fruit-forward brightness, and rotating specials like the beloved vanilla latte showcase real creativity behind the counter. This is the kind of intimate spot where you'll find yourself lingering over thoughtfully crafted drinks, whether it's a signature creation or a perfectly pulled shot, with a welcoming energy that makes both regulars and first-timers feel like they've discovered something special in Boise.”

Randomly stumbled upon this shop a few months ago when she had a coffee cart outside. Immediately hooked. Good coffee is hard to find in Boise and I just wish I was closer so I could go everyday!! Lovely human running the place, cute decor, and truly some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in Boise.
Brood has THE best coffee on the bench, and actually all of Boise. Love Denisha’s rotating specials and the vanilla Latte. The owner/operator pours her soul into this shop and it shows. My husband and I visit multiple times a week.
Such a cute little coffee stand! Service was so friendly and great. Will definitely be back for another banana latte.
VERDICT: An excellent espresso of Central American origin. COFFEE: Light roast, Central American varieties deliver a bouquet of fruit forward notes, with underscores of delicate light toasting and not even a hint of tanins (bitters*). My Americano with just a hint of cream delivered exceptional flavor keeping it light and bright but still strong in caffeine (lighter the roast, the more the caffeine, all else equal). SERVICE: Excellent service being both swift yet still engaging in conversation. Prices are excellent (could easily charge more for this quality). ATMOSPHERE: I personally love the culture of walk-ups, as they don't pull you out of the area around you. It builds a less formal introduction which can often lead to better mingling. *Tannins, or bitters aren't intrinsically bad or marks of lacking technique. In moderation, they serve as Notes of complexity in darker roasts, beers, etc., but in the case of light roast, Central American roasts, you usually want to highlight the complex fruit and toasty notes without blowing out the palate with complex deep notes.
Brood is such an awesome place to go get your coffee or tea! The owner definitely cares about high quality coffee and is very welcoming! Such a cute place in a great spot with delicious drinks!
