Crema's Take
“Solum takes their roasting seriously enough that every espresso-based drink tastes noticeably better than the chain alternative, with pastries creative and good enough that regulars come back just as much for the food as the coffee. The space has a deliberate dark academia aesthetic—bookshelves, board games, proper lighting—that actually makes it one of the better spots in McAllen for a long work session or casual hangout without feeling like you're overstaying your welcome. Staff knows what they're doing and remembers you, which matters more than it sounds.”
What to expect
Espresso-focused. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly spot, good for meetings. Pastries on the menu.
