Crema's Take

Fat Dragon is a Silverlake gem that earns serious praise for its authentic Chinese food and standout brown sugar milk tea, though diners seem most devoted to the savory offerings rather than the full menu. The warm, accommodating service and willingness to customize orders create an inviting atmosphere perfect for lingering conversations over lunch, though consistency appears to vary across their dishes. If you're seeking genuinely well-executed Chinese cuisine in LA rather than something generic, this is worth a visit—just come prepared to ask your server for their best recommendations.

Some of the best actual Chinese food I’ve had in LA. The absolute best in silverlake. Really well done

Came here Saturday and did take out. The brown sugar milk tea was the best I’ve ever had, but that was it. Everything else I had was not good at all. I spent $90 on food and even left a tip without even trying the food. This was my first time here and it would’ve been my last but that milk tea is very good. The food was bland no flavor whatsoever, the calamari was small as can be and overly crunchy. It was like eating a bunch of crumbs. The orange chicken was just a no. I gave all my food away to my neighbor who literally eats anything and he didn’t even like it. I want my damn money back. The honey walnut shrimp was trash too.

Fat Dragon is fantastic!!! Great food. Wonderful, friendly service. They always accommodate my special requests. I rarely, if ever, order Chinese food elsewhere. Thank you team at Fat Dragon!!!

Bad, bland, and kinda gross. Fried rice was lazy and boring, lacking good ingredients. Pork dumplings do NOT taste real and pretty disgusting. Green beans were decent. But what’s the point of eating out if I can cook better than this?
