Wolf and Mermaid Enchanted Cafe
181 Central Park Square, Santa Fe, NM
Crema's Take
“Wolf and Mermaid brings a whimsical, enchanted vibe to Santa Fe's coffee scene with genuinely impressive cleanliness and a relaxed atmosphere that works equally well for lingering meetings or focused work sessions. Their specialty lattes showcase real craft and creativity, though consistency can be hit-or-miss depending on staffing, and the kitchen backs up the coffee with delicious breakfast pastries and thoughtfully curated light fare like charcuterie boards that elevate the typical cafe experience. If you're seeking that magical little corner cafe where specialty drinks and genuine care for detail shine through, this is worth the visit—just maybe aim for their less hectic hours.”

The cafe itself is very cute and impressively clean. As for the food, it was what I needed—hot, filling, and the coffee was actually pretty decent. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We weren’t greeted or even acknowledged when we walked in; the staff stayed focused on other tasks without a simple "be with you in a second." It made me feel like I was in the wrong place or missing a sign. While the ordering process was efficient, it was completely transactional—no eye contact, no "you're welcome," and no warmth. Good food, but a very flat experience.
Finally Los Alamos has good coffee! Good food also, including a solid Charcuterie/cheese board, and they have good wine and beer
We are out-of-town visitors and happened on Wolf and Mermaid by chance. We got breakfast croissants and a couple of different specialty lattes. Everything was so delicious! We especially enjoyed the croissant sandwiches. The cafe atmosphere was great as well. The service was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Los Alamos!
Great relaxed atmosphere to meet with people or get some work done. The best coffee shop in town. And they also have lunch options (burritos and sandwiches).
Updated review once again the people here working are not trained correctly. My latte was extremely under steamed and once again no latte art with extremely long wait even though there's only one person in front of me. Took about 20 minutes total to get one latte and they don't even use the porcelain cups available to provide it a good design. This will be the last time I come back. Sorry, can't say it was a great experience. Pretty slow and a latte was not good. They have a nice machine but they need to get somebody knows that operate it. The milk was extremely over steamed and the green chili croissant was flat and doughy. I have to come back again next visit to get a cup of coffee. I wouldn't recommend this place to try to get work done.
