Crema's Take

Eli Cafe is a warm neighborhood spot where the front-of-house staff genuinely makes you feel welcome, and their specialty drinks and freshly made pastries—especially their milk cake and Turkish coffee—are worth the slightly higher price tag. While reviews are mixed, the consistently praised experiences center on unexpectedly delicious, beautifully crafted drinks paired with an exceptionally kind team that seems to remember why a good coffee shop is really about hospitality first.

I agree that this place is slightly overpriced, but the desserts are so good and freshly made! I ordered a milk cake and a Turkish coffee. This reminisce my Turkish trip back to 2022

I had a truly disappointing experience at this coffee shop that I feel compelled to share. What should have been a simple coffee run turned into a frustrating and potentially dangerous situation. I placed an order for a café latte, at the counter However, when I received my order and took a sip, I was shocked to taste the unmistakable flavor of pumpkin spice. As someone with a severe pumpkin allergy, this mix-up was not just inconvenient but potentially life-threatening. Concerned and confused, I approached the counter to rectify the situation. To my dismay, the cashier insisted that a pumpkin spice latte was indeed what I had ordered and what she had prepared. Despite my explanation that I would never order anything containing pumpkin due to my allergy, she remained adamant and refused to correct the order. The most frustrating part of this experience was the staff's lack of accountability and unwillingness to address the mistake. I ended up having to discard a $7 cup of coffee that I couldn't drink and leave the shop empty-handed and dissatisfied. This incident has made me wary of returning to this establishment. For those considering visiting this coffee shop, I strongly advise you to not only clearly state your order but also confirm it multiple times before accepting your drink. It's disheartening that such measures are necessary for a simple coffee order, but based on my experience, it's better to be safe than sorry. In the end, what should have been an enjoyable coffee break turned into a waste of time and money, not to mention a potential health risk. I hope the management takes note of this feedback and improves their staff training and customer service to prevent similar incidents in the future.
