Tryst
2459 18th St NW, Washington, DC
Crema's Take
“Tryst is a sprawling, wonderfully chaotic neighborhood hub where you can nurse a creative specialty drink and inventive breakfast all day long, with plenty of room to spread out whether you're working, gaming, or catching up with friends. The kitchen takes real care with their food—fresh bagels and generous portions at fair prices—and the vibe strikes that rare balance of being both seriously laptop-friendly and genuinely social, even when it gets delightfully loud and packed.”

LOVED this place. Great food, great prices, and the atmosphere was so nice. Only flaw was that the servers seemed overworked and didn’t even have time to come back to me to bring me my check :( other than that everything was great!
A unique and clearly local spot that offers a variety of seating options suitable for conversations, laptops, reading or other works. I was surprised by the size and creativity of their menu, as well as how it was table service (you don’t order at the bar if you’re Dine In). The gluten free wrap tasted good and I really enjoyed having my coffee in an actual mug. I imagine parking during the weekends or dinner time would be much more difficult.
Delicious food, great portions, good prices, perfect atmosphere, and wonderful service from my server, Destiny! Would definitely be a regular here if I lived closer, but for now I’ll just make sure to stop by whenever I’m in the area :) definitely recommend this spot!!!
I've been to Tryst twice now and they were both great experiences. The atmosphere is good for working, playing board games, reading, and just yapping. The drink options are wide, and I enjoyed my London fog. If you get to-go, make sure to take the tea bag out at some point so it doesn't get too bitter. The bathroom is mid-neatness. Clean, but graffitied. They have two rooms, so there is usually a short line. I love the orginazation of the cafe.
Tryst serves pretty decent breakfast and brunch, it’s spacious with inside and outside tables, it can get very noisy and busy. It’s pricey but good enough. Recommend the bagels 🥯 very tasty and fresh. Coffee too. I liked the frappe! Has free wifi and the staff is friendly.
