Gong cha
1500 W Lake Lansing Rd, East Lansing, MI
Crema's Take
“This East Lansing location serves up creative bubble tea drinks with hits and misses—when they nail it, like their Peach Star Coconut Jelly, it's genuinely excellent, but consistency seems to be their biggest challenge based on mixed reviews about flavor execution. The shop shines brightest with their signature creative offerings and matcha selections, making it a solid quick grab for tea enthusiasts willing to overlook the higher price point and occasional quality hiccups. It's a family-friendly spot where you can customize your drink's sweetness level, though you might want to inspect your cup before diving in.”

Good service and the pictures in the restaurant matched our order. The Peach Star Coconut Jelly option was pretty good as well🔥😎
Usually gong cha is okay I’ve had it like twice before. However I went here yesterday and got a large black iced tea (30% sweet) with tapioca pearls and the tea tasted so burnt. I chugged a bit down and got home to dilute it with water and some lemon and nothing could be done to make it better :( the pearls were also just mediocre
Let me start off by saying my Tea was 5 stars. I am in between 3 stars and 4 stars because their prices were so high compared to others. I got a large brown sugar milk tea and had to add .75 cents for tapioca. My total was over $7 in my opinion too much. The establishment is cute and modern. They have coffee too. They are running a special on $3 iced teas. The bubble waffle looked yummy.
I found POWDER!!!! In my milk tea . I was peacefully enjoying my day then i look and see gong cha and I feel like usually alot of people talk about gong cha so I decided to try it out and I get my usual (taro milk tea). Okay we wait about 5-6 minutes average time because I order 2 drinks one for me and one for my dad but we get out that place cuz were hyped for boba and TELL ME WHY I go to take a sip and im like "Oh! Something tastes off let me mix it more" i mix it more just to see powder chunks float up to the top no matter how much I mixed it had tasted bad. Not to mention the powder was blue???? Pictures below
Had the strawberry milk bubble tea and the winter melon milk bubble tea, they were not bad; but I didn’t really taste the tea even with the sugar and ice reduced. I would definitely come back to try other drinks on the menu! Really like the atmosphere of the place and the staff members were super nice and friendly. Plenty of parking available.
