I genuinely regret having to leave a negative review because the three guys working when I visited were friendly and gracious. They even remade my drink without hesitation, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the quality of what I was served — twice — was far below what I expected given the near-perfect reviews found on Google Maps. My latte was, frankly, close to undrinkable. The espresso tasted sour and flat with a lingering unpleasant aftertaste. The oat milk had no microfoam whatsoever and tasted like standard boxed, homogenized oat milk rather than something textured with care. There was no attempt at latte art — just hot milk poured over espresso, and the milk itself lacked sweetness or proper integration. It was also served in a standard narrow coffee cup rather than a wide-rimmed latte cup, which may seem minor, but presentation does matter — especially at specialty prices. The ambiance also did not match the glowing descriptions I had read. Rather than warm and inviting, the space felt cold and sterile, with metal chairs and tables laid out in a grid. There were a couple of booths that looked more comfortable, but they were full. The overall vibe felt more institutional than cozy neighborhood café. I truly like supporting local, off-the-beaten-path businesses, which is why the gap between the overwhelmingly positive reviews and my actual experience was so surprising. I’m not sure if I caught them on an off day, but based on two attempts at the same drink, the execution simply wasn’t there. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because the staff were kind and seemingly well-intentioned. But given the expectations set by the reviews, I feel obligated to share an honest account of my experience. Given the perfect 5.0 rating across 240 reviews, I expected a top-tier specialty coffee experience. Unfortunately, my visit did not align with that expectation.

I was very surprised at the cup of rolled oats! I was not anticipating much as it was prepackaged but the flavor and consistency was just as good as home made 👌 Fast, friendly, staff which is always a great way to start the morning. Google maps was not the best navigator to find the place, I ended up circling the block a few times before I really saw the correct building. 🤪 Hope to be back again soon to try out something new!

If you’re looking for a laid-back coffee shop with amazing owners and top-quality beans, you have to check out Disciples. I usually take my espresso short and smooth, but Chris convinced me to try their famous Butter Latte — and he was right. It’s my new favorite. Exceptional drinks, genuinely friendly people, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend

Always love stopping by Disciples coffee when I’m in town visiting. This place has a great atmosphere and even better coffee. My go to drink has been the butter latte but I recently tried Mexican Mocha and have to say, it might take the lead. Give one of those a try if you stop by and don’t forget to grab some freshly roasted beans to try at home!

What I love about Garden City is it's hidden gems. All these new businesses are opening up. And you have to get directions to these joints to find cause they aren't on a busy road. I would have never known about this shop if it wasn't for Google or Yelp. I had an hour before closing so I headed in real quick for a caffeinated beverage. Pulling up to the joint, it doesn't look like your basic coffee shop. It honestly looks like an office building. I love that they had Disciples in big bold letters on the door. It was a nice sign that I am in the right place. Walking in, this place is cool. Cool in mood, cool in atmosphere and cool in vibe. It's really quiet and chill. A great place to have an intimate coffee date or work. I was instantly greeted by a gentleman behind the counter. He grabbed my order and got my drink started. I ordered my usual drink today. A small iced americano with cream. They didn't have any sugar free syrup options which is a bummer. He did ask if I want monk fruit or stevia sweetner, I passed on both. He did offer raw honey so I took up on that offer! He finished my drink and I noticed there wasn't any cream. It was filled to the top so it was pretty watered down. He did pour some of the coffee out and added the cream. The raw honey was nice but it still wasn't sweet enough for me so I added a packet of blue sweetner. It's a drinkable cup of coffee but it does lack flavor cause it was so watered down. I had really high hopes for this joint. After reading the reviews, I had high expectations. It looked like they pushed out great coffee! The venue and the gentleman were on point today but my drink was a flop. While waiting for my drink, I noticed all the cool patches from different police departments. Supporting our police departments is so important to me! They protect and serve us so they have my highest respect. I appreciate the different badges on display. I feel bad that I didn't really like my drink. I do want to come back and try again! I don't know if our addition of raw honey threw of dude while he was making my drink. This place is too cool not to come back. If I'm down Chinden again and I'm in need of a caffeinated beverage, I'll be stopping in here again.
