Crema's Take
“This beloved downtown Boise spot earns its reputation with generously stacked sandwiches that locals genuinely rave about, particularly the Italian and Turkey Bacon varieties made with impressively fresh ingredients. It's a charming, casual nook perfect for a quick lunch or meeting up with someone, where you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised by the quality—the bread is a standout, the sides like potato salad are thoughtfully prepared, and the whole experience feels unpretentious and welcoming.”

Holy moly!! These sandwiches are piled on perfectly and absolutely delicious!! The potato salad is perfect as well. First time visiting but definitely won't be the last!
Cute little nook to grab lunch. I had the chicken bahn mi. The bread is the best part as the bahn mi was quite blah. The side salad ingredients were fresh and the dressing was good. I'd go again and try something else on the menu just to experience the bread again
Hadn't eaten all day so I did a search to find a place near me I hadn't tried, and I was surprised I didn't know about a sandwich shop in an area I'm often in that had such good reviews. The person working recommended three of his favorite sandwiches, because I was having a hard time deciding. I went with the Chicken Bahn Mi and a side salad. I'm not a sandwich person usually, but this is one of the best meals I've ever had. It's obvious they put thought into the ingredients and the combinations of flavors, and follow through into making it. The texture of the bread was perfect, soft and crunchy. Now I have to come back and try every other sandwich they have.
If you’re in downtown Boise and craving a great sandwich, Don and Charly’s Sandwich Shop is a must-try! We ordered the Turkey Bacon and the Italian Deli, and both were stacked to the max with fresh meats and packed with flavor. The bread was soft with a good crust and every bite was loaded with quality ingredients. Fast service, friendly staff, and generous portions make this a standout spot for lunch or a quick bite. The only downside is that the space is pretty small with limited seating, so it’s probably best to grab it to go. Highly recommend if you love classic deli sandwiches or are looking for a great local sandwich shop downtown.
I know now why they were voted best sandwich in Idaho. The Italian was something to write home about. Delicious 😋 can’t wait to try the whole menu.
