Lake Anza Beach Club

Crema's Take
“Lake Anza Beach Club is a wonderfully unexpected gem tucked into the East Bay hills—a sheltered freshwater beach with shallow, clean water that feels like a secret local escape rather than a typical coffee stop. The real magic here is the unhurried vibe: you'll settle into a camp chair with your coffee, feet in the sand and eyes on the water, while families and dogs mill about in a genuinely relaxed, car-free atmosphere that encourages lingering conversations and daydreaming. It's the kind of place where a traditional coffee becomes part of a larger experience of discovering something you somehow missed in your own backyard.”

Very nice place come with family & friends hiking & explore some views
Lived near by for so long and I barely came to this place after I moved away. This place is really nice, small yet nice. Has a grass area, bathroom, sand, I heard the water is shallow, life guard.
A hidden beach in Berkeley perfect for kids! Clean water and not too crowded.
Updated and open to the public! Amazing area to bring your young ones to swim and enjoy, perfect cove for a family getaway, or simply spend some time with a friend or three! When you arrive there is a giant section of grass, a small store to the right, for a quick snack and plenty of simple options for a drink. Entrance fee is really cheap then comes the beach! 5 out of 5!!
Oh my WHAT!!?! How have I lived in the East Bay since 2016 and not been here? I demand to know! Sitting in a camp chair by the water, in the shade of an umbrella, my feet in the sand, looking up at the crisp water surrounded by trees and crested by the wide blue sky feathered with thin brushstrokes of clouds, I felt like I was camping—but a mere 15 minutes from home! Entrance fee is CHEAP! A wide beach and wide grassy area with lots of sun and surrounded by shade from trees. Small swimming area with lifeguards and life vests for kids to borrow. I wish the swimming area and water access were twice as wide. Don’t swim anywhere besides inside the buoys, the lifeguards will yell at yous. Bathrooms, changing rooms with showers, outdoor showers to wash away sand and the gross lake water. By the way, they say to be careful not get the water in your mouth and they advise that you bathe after going in the lake… something about algal blooms. Snack shack with LOTS of options. You can order from the snack shack both outside and inside the pay area. Free parking. Very large grassy area near the parking lot, outside of the pay area. Hiking trail goes around the lake. No/slow cell reception makes it a more relaxing getaway. If you choose to give a thumbs-up 👍🏽 or not, I hope you found my review helpful!
