Crema's Take

Nikki's Cafe is a small Dana Point spot that takes breakfast seriously, earning genuine raves for hefty, thoughtfully-made burritos like their veggie and machaca varieties that customers describe as life-changing rather than just filling. Beyond the impressive savory fare, there's a real care here for balance—people appreciate that the food isn't oversauced or salty, and the pastry display offers a nice lighter option for those just needing something to tide them over. It's the kind of neighborhood cafe where friendly service and quality homemade feel make it worth lingering over coffee and a plate.

Small cafe. Nice service. Great veggie breakfast burrito with bacon. The torta was very flavorful and filling.

Ordered a breakfast burrito, breakfast torta and 2 orders of fries. $42 for this to go order. Asked her if there was sauce in the bag she says yes I put some in there. I get home there is only one sauce. One half way full. I was so upset I had to call her and tell her. Come on!!!!! I’m still pissed. Food expensive and on top of that no cheese in my torta. Never again. Food is not even that good.

Ordered a veggie breakfast burrito and was stunned by how good it was! The burrito was about $15, but it was massive. I really appreciated that the burrito wasn’t loaded with salty sauces or anything like that; it was just solid ingredients freshly cooked. The cashier was friendly and our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering, so that was great. It definitely is a good grab-and-go kind of spot, not so much dine in, though you could if you wanted to. There was a small bar inside to sit and some tables outside, but definitely not what I would recommend for a sit down breakfast experience.

I had a light breakfast and needed a little something to hold me over so I went in to see what they had in their pastry display, when I remembered they had food here I looked at the menu and was pleasantly surprised to see they had Tripas as an option for their Tacos!! Yum!!! The portion was more than what I wanted as a holdover, but can you ever truly complain about that?!? Also got an Apple Fritter and that was fluffy and flavorful, I’ll be back to try some more things in the future!!!

Had the Machaca Burrito this morning and WOW. Top 5 best burritos I’ve ever had. Definitely coming back. Pancakes were awesome too!
