Crema's Take

Tucked into Webster Groves, this beloved neighborhood gem combines a genuine bakery operation with a full breakfast and lunch cafe where the pastry selection is genuinely hard to choose from—locals rave about everything from the pineapple upside-down cake to creative sandwiches like their meat and egg with sausage. The staff hits that sweet spot of genuinely friendly and attentive without being fussy, and while the seating can be a bit utilitarian (hard chairs, though the bench is cozy), the excellent food at reasonable prices and relaxed, family-friendly vibe make it the kind of place you'll want to return to again and again.

Chairs are hard and uncomfortable. Bench is padded and feels ok. Food is excellent. Prices are reasonable. You order at the front and apparently are supposed to clean your table after you're done. That's why I took a star off of service since there isn't any service other than them bringing out your food. The omlet and cobb salad were both good. We got there at 11:30 on Thursday and the place was quiet and never did get busy.

Liked it here. When in the area again definitely try another pastry. Sooo many to choose from! Nice attendant and all staff was friendly and attentive. Very comfortable inside.

I’m not easily impressed, but this was an EASY 10/10 for me! Will definitely be coming back next time we’re in town. Staff is very friendly and even warmed my Yeti cup with hot water before making my to-go hot latte. Coffee is great, food is somehow even better. This is a “lick your plate clean” kind of breakfast.

Disclaimer. I did not eat anything at this spot because I was so full for lunch, but my friends did and the pineapple upside down cake and the gooey butter ice cream look phenomenal. We had so much fun at the spot! Thank goodness we didn’t get kicked out. The staff was definitely ready for us to leave. We play entirely too much. Amazing spot with desserts all around. I had no idea this spot existed.

My friend and I both ordered the meat and egg sandwich with sausage and it was so delicious! There were so many items on the menu that sounded good though, so I'll be back to try a burrito or an omelet as they looked delicious being delivered to adjacent tables. There were a few tables outside but we opted to sit inside, upstairs. Upstairs can get quite loud with nothing to absorb the sound but I loved the natural light coming in from the skylights. I ordered an iced latte and my friend ordered an iced coffee with cream. I wish they had milk and half and half out at the beverage station since we had a hard time finding the cream he asked for since it didn't come with or in the drink. Parking was easy to find despite coming in on a Sunday for lunch and I always love a reason to come to Kirkwood.
