Old Town Cafe
206 San Felipe St NW, Albuquerque, NM
Crema's Take
“Tucked right on Albuquerque's historic Old Town Plaza, this cafe nails the balance between a quick caffeine stop and a lingering afternoon hangout, with a genuinely relaxed vibe that invites you to stay awhile. Beyond the coffee, they're earning serious love for creative sandwiches and New Mexican comfort food—think grilled cheese, quesadillas, and posole—that clearly resonate with both locals and visitors seeking something more memorable than typical cafe fare.”

Soooo….. I’ll start by saying The food was really tasty. I had the grilled cheese. Really good! My wife had quesadilla. She was very happy with it. The only problem was we waited 45 minutes before they even took our order and another 20-25 minutes to receive our food. It took us an hour and a half for what we thought was gonna be a quick lunch. And it wasn’t that busy. BUT, when they realized they overlooked our table, they did bring us out some chips and salsa, which we appreciated! I think they just missed us and didn’t realize we hadn’t been helped. if it wasn’t for the excessively long wait, we would’ve given a five star review. Food was very good!
The cafe is located right on the square in Old Town, and has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Our Billy the Kid, posole, and pickle sandwich were very good. Will definitely eat there again.
My boyfriend and I had a Sunday date in old town and decided to try the Old Town Cafe for lunch. We both got the frito pie and were so very disappointed. It looked like they just threw a handful in the box and called it a day. It was very greasy as well. It was not worth it for the price and the almost 20-minute wait.
We were visiting Old Town Plaza and came in for a smoothie to cool us from the Summer heat. The smoothie was very refreshing. They also offer sandwiches and other hot foods, although we didn't order any. Very nice people.
Old Town Cafe has to be one of the gems in Old Town that many need to discover. They have some awesome sandwiches and food. My wife has been telling me about it for a while and we finally went. It was every bit good that she said it was and more. Highly recommended place to eat and try. Friendly service as well.
