I love the variety of fresh baked cookies. I occasionally make a special 32 mile trip from Stafford to pick up a dozen cookies. The bakeries on my side of town tend to offer giant cookies that are 2 to 3 times bigger than Savannah Bakery cookies, therefore cost 2 to 3 times the price and they don't have as big of a variety. My friends and I certainly don't need a giant cookie and it just doesn't seem like southern hospitality to offer to share a single cookie that may not be the variety my friend would choose. Savannah Bakery also has decorated cutout sugar cookies specific to upcoming occasions and holidays. Yesterday they had several Valentine's cookies. They also have a great menu and offer sandwiches, paninis, soups, salads, pastas, quiche, fresh fruit, chicken pot pie, a daily hot plate.
Just went in to get a quote on a cake that I would like made for my boyfriend. The young lady at the cash register was super sweet super nice, super kind and helpful. The manager on the other hand was not very welcoming not friendly did not even smile at me. I was asking the young lady at the register for quotes she brought in the manager to help answer some of my questions upon the manager walking up to me she looked me up and down sized me up did not smile once did not have a friendly tone. I felt very unwelcome. She just walked off didn’t even end. The conversation didn’t say thank you for stopping by. Nothing it was no sort of friendliness. I will never come to this place again and I’m warning others of the horrible experience.
A group of ladies came together for a Christmas exchange of gifts, good conversation, and good food. I ordered a ham and Swiss cheese on rye with chips. The rye bread was fresh and the ham was a thick slice. The sandwich was very good. I also ordered a cupcake and I was a bit disappointed with it. It was very dry and crumbly and the icing tasted commercial. The serving of apple pie one lady got was generous and the cookies were very good. Prices were quite reasonable. Plenty of seating in the cafe. It was a very nice lunch.
My family and I have been here many times over the years, so this review is long overdue. Savannah has so many incredible bakery options. Our favorite is the homemade chocolate chip cookies. They are truly the best in Houston and that's saying a lot (love Paulies cookies too). If they are made the day of the cookies melt in your mouth and they are always very generous with the chocolate chips. We also love the cute decorated cookies and the lemon cake. We've gotten the lemon cake many times for birthdays over the years. Our favorite entrees are the chicken spaghetti and the four cheese panini. On a hot day it's always nice to have a glass of their apricot tea. I highly recommend this lovely little cafe in Clear Lake. :-)
This was my first visit. Nice clean environment, great service, and delicious food. I ordered a chicken salad, a chicken pesto panini, both with potato salad and a Italian cream cakes. The chicken salad was the best I've had in a while. It didn't have fruit or nuts, just chicken and a little tiny bit of celery. Not sure it was part of the order or was put in my bag by mistake, but the potato soup was especially tasty. There wasn't big chunks of potato, it was more of a creamy potato soup with nice chunky lil bits of bacon. It was all so good. The panini was amazing and my daughter ate all of it, she doesn't usually eat all her food (picky eater). I would definitely go back and refer anyone looking for pastry treats or a good sandwich.
