Le Gaz

Crema's Take
“Le Gaz is a pint-sized Lower East Side gem that punches well above its weight, blending serious coffee craftsmanship with a quirky, cozy personality that feels both intimate and effortlessly cool. Their Vietnamese coffees pack an impressive caffeine punch and showcase real skill with traditional techniques, while they've also earned a reputation for nailing notoriously tricky drinks like the cortado and experimenting with creative signatures like their honey sesame latte. This is the kind of place where you'll want to linger over a pastry, soak in the vibey, streetwear-inflected atmosphere, and strike up a conversation—though fair warning that the baristas might be doing the same with their friends behind the counter.”

Honestly, one of the most caffeinated viet coffees I’ve had which is so refreshing. Ca phe muoi is more on the bitter side and the salted foam helps. But my god the barista was talking with his friends and wasn’t taking orders for like 10 mins, was not checking in or looking at the line and was just engaged in conversation with his two friends who were sitting inside. Coffee: 8/10, barista being oblivious 0/10
I’m giving this places four stars because I was not aware of the caffeine content in Vietnamese coffee. I drink 2-3 double shots a day and came here to get their Vietnamese iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk. It’s 8 hours later and I still feel wired. Great vibe, great coffee but maybe stick with the espresso or matcha drinks unless you have a big day ahead of you.
Cutest coffee shop in the LES, next to a Persian-inspired shop. Gorgeous interior and one of the few places that gets the cortado right.
Vibey cafe + streetwear store combo - we shared the honey sesame latte which I personally wouldn’t recommend (sesame flavor is too strong) but I definitely want to come back to try one of the signatures. The decor inside is well thought out and there’s additional seating in the store area. The brand itself seems high quality and well-priced and was fun to browse.
Le Gaz is the cutest, quirkiest little coffee shop — tiny in size but big in personality! I loved the cozy, corky vibe the moment I walked in. Despite its small footprint, the space feels welcoming, warm, and full of charm. Their matcha and coffee were both excellent — smooth, balanced, and clearly made with care. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to slow down for a moment and just enjoy your drink. A delightful hidden gem. Highly recommend stopping by for a great cup and a fun, memorable atmosphere!
