“This Ann Arbor gem seamlessly blends craft cocktails with serious coffee in a relaxed, music-filled space where you can actually settle in for hours without feeling rushed. The staff genuinely seem to love what they do, offering thoughtful recommendations on everything from seasonal cocktail ingredients to breakfast sandwich components, creating the kind of welcoming vibe that keeps people coming back for both morning meetings and after-work hangs. Had a great experience! It was so relaxed, I got lost in the music and the movie screen. The staff was so incredibly nice and down to earth! Cocktails were so yummy and detailed.
1824 Cocktails & Coffee is an interesting spot to meet up with friends to grab a drink! I can only speak for the cocktails portion of the joint, but I'll say that I'm definitely interested in stopping back in to try out some coffee! I stopped in with a group on a weeknight recently, and even on a cold December night, we found that there was a small crowd inside, with groups of all sizes grabbing drinks and catching up. The inside of the establishment is a mix of super high ceilings and surpisingly limited seats. There are a fair amount of tables and bar seating as well, but just less than you'd expect by looking at it from the outside! There are a ton of TVs inside, so I could imagine this would be a good place to watch sports -- while we were there, they were playing a Lord of the Rings movie and we heard from the bartender that they often have movies of such high caliber playing! Now onto the important part - the cocktails! We tried a couple of cocktails from their menu and found that though they tasted good, they felt somewhat lacking in alcohol... either the bartender did an amazing job with the mix, or they were light pours. I will say I got an old fashioned after that, and the old fashioned was excellent! Handmade, not pre-mixed, and both the flavor and presentation were excellent. Overall, I'd say we had a pretty solid experience - I'll be back to try out some more drinks for sure (both cocktails and coffee!)
Amazing service Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! Gave me very detailed information on menu ingredients and seasonal options! Will be coming back again often, a nice stop for after work to get some relaxation in!
Four Stars - Creative Drinks, Cool Vibes, and Room to Refine I’d been eyeing 1824 Cocktails and Coffee online for a few weeks and finally made it in this past Sunday. First impressions? The space is beautiful—bright, modern, and super clean. Think tall ceilings, wood accents, and a cool blend of avant-garde and mid-century modern design. Bonus points for the incredibly comfortable seating, which you don’t always expect in places like this. When we first arrived, the staff was a bit overwhelming—everyone was talking at once, trying to explain how things work, and it felt a little chaotic. That said, once we settled in, the experience turned out great. We didn’t order any food this time, but stopped in for drinks and sat at the bar. The cocktail menu is creative and full of fun twists on the classics. I had an Old Fashioned with coffee liqueur that was smooth and perfectly balanced, and followed it up with a vodka-heavy cream and coffee liqueur drink that was equally delicious. They also have a small menu of food options—mostly apps—which I plan to check out next time. My only suggestion for improvement: give guests a clearer welcome and walkthrough of how things work when they first arrive. Oh, and maybe fix the “cappuccino” spelling on the menu and signage—it’s a coffee bar, after all. Overall, this place has serious potential and I’ll definitely be back to try more.
Staff was friendly, attentive and helpful and provided quick service. Food and drink were delicious! Everything on the breakfast sandwich was fresh and delicious. Great seating options whether you're by yourself or with a group. Can't wait to go back!
