Crema's Take

This retro Seaside gem excels at the full diner experience, from their stellar huevos rancheros and crispy waffles to genuine hospitality that keeps regulars coming back. The space has that perfect laid-back, nostalgic charm where families linger over coffee and pastries, and your four-legged friend is just as welcome as you are. With consistently attentive servers and hearty, honest food, Googie Grill feels like the kind of place where everyone knows your name.

•Huevos Rancheros with tostadas on the side. This was delish!!! •Chicken (nuggets) & Waffles (extra charge for gravy and bone in. Meh) •Burger patty for our doggie - can't go wrong. Veggies were fresh.

Googie Grill consistently serves delicious food in an adorable, retro setting. Our server today was Gladys, who was friendly, professional and efficient! We were a party of 5 and she took care of us flawlessly. We ordered the beignets, they were delicious! I enjoyed their chilaquiles, which were perfectly prepared. Mr. Wonderful ordered the crab-cake Benedict and cleaned his plate. Googie Grill is a spot we will continue to visit when we’re visiting the peninsula.

Start with the best first...Our server was amazing. Genuinely friendly and helpful. The back door was open which may have something to do with the large amount of flies inside. The food while looking good (see pictures), was lower quality and under seasoned. Googie potatoes was a tiny portion, potatoes tender, but the peppers and onions were basically raw. (I love peppers and onions, and left most on the plate). The ham steak was a very thin slice you would use on a ham sandwich... and the cheap"spongee" flavorless variety. Pancakes were good, but had to cover them with a napkin to keep flies off them while i ate. But they were good. Iced Tea was interesting. Flavored. My dining companion did not care for it. I liked the flavored tea, but it did over power the lemonade in my Arnold Palmer.

We were welcomed and seated very fast. The service was quick and the server was a nice gentleman. We got the bread basket, very yummy appetizer of course. I got the philly cheesesteak with fries- was absolutely delicious. Husband ordered the chicken and waffles and loved it (he doesn’t even like waffles.) We loved every second at Googie Grill. Definitely coming again and bringing everyone we know!
