Crema's Take

Tucked into San Antonio's Blue Star Arts District, this neighborhood gem serves up inventive breakfast and lunch dishes like the Hamageddon (poached eggs with onion cream cheese on an English muffin) that prove every component matters. The vibe is genuinely welcoming—staff like Rosie anticipate what you need before you ask, making it feel less like a transaction and more like a friend taking care of you over brunch. It's the kind of place where you can linger over traditional coffee drinks and light food without feeling rushed, whether you're catching up with friends or recovering from a morning run.

Every dish was full of flavor I ordered the Hamageddon. Which is two poached eggs a drizzle of hollandaise on english muffin with onion cream cheese and a side of potatoes. The cream cheese really pushed this dish forward! The mini pancakes were delicious, I believe they were sourdough and I really enjoyed that the powdered sugar was lightly done. Every dish was very delicious, the music was enjoyable and at a decent sound level that allowed conversation. The overall atmosphere reminded me of an ASMR cafe. The server was nice and evenly attentive. They informed when the food would be a little longer wait do to cook having just receiving a big order. The drinks were taste. Would recommend and everyone in my party enjoyed their meals.

Came here on a Thursday for a late lunch. Not busy at all and the staff were super friendly. I got the Big Cheesy with pepper jack and chipotle ranch while my friend got the Chicken Wrap. Both were super good and portioned perfectly. For drinks I got the Blueberry Hibiscus and my friend got a Cinnamon Chai Latte. The Hibiscus doesn’t come sweetened so unless you prefer a lighter flavor with no sweetened I recommend getting it with a simple syrup! Overall super good and definitely recommend

Great cocktails after a nice bike ride or run! We had brunch here and it was okay. We were starving. However, I heard they have a different menu after a certain time. Will return for sure for a nice cocktail and maybe a quick bite. 😊

Cool place in a cool, out of the way location. Get away from the tourist part of SA and enjoy a local’s neighborhood. This Halcyon location is in the Blue Star Arts District. We rarely travel by car, so we walked the Riverwalk all the way to this Arts District and had a late breakfast. Since I have a major sweet tooth, I had the bread pudding French Toast. As we say in our circle of friends, Oh My God, Becky! That was good. My husband had the avocado toast and loved it. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The only disappointment was we were there too early in the day for cocktails. As a hobby mixologist, I would have LOVED to try some of their cocktails. They sounded amazing. Maybe while we’re in Austin I’ll be able to get a drink. Drive, walk, or run to Halcyon. It’s worth the trip. And the other local outlets here looked equally good.
