Gather & Game
205 Grant St, Buffalo, NY
Crema's Take
“Gather & Game brilliantly blends specialty coffee and craft beverages with an expertly curated board game and tabletop gaming selection, creating a genuinely welcoming third space where you can linger for hours. The cozy Grant Street spot punches well above its modest footprint with an impressive inventory—particularly standout Warhammer and hobby supplies—plus a full board game library and regular facilitated play sessions like learn-to-play D&D nights. Staff who actually know games and care about connecting people to the right experience set the tone for what reviewers consistently describe as one of Buffalo's most inviting community hubs.”

It was my first time here and I already love this place. Staff was genuinely friendly and were very helpful in my boardgame search. You can tell by the atmosphere that they want to create a welcoming environment for everyone 😊 The space seemed small from the outside but I was pleasently suprised at how great the game/card selection was. They have weekly boargame nights and other regulat games like MTG casual commander night and pre-release too! We'll definitely be back for some games with this crowd soon!
Gather & Game on Grant Street is one of Buffalo’s hidden gems! The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and always happy to help. Prices are more than fair, and their purchase limits are handled in a way that’s fair to everyone. The vibe in the shop is always friendly, fun, and full of positive energy. Plus, the building is painted purple, so you’ll never miss it! If you’re a fan of TCG’s, board games, or just love supporting a great local business, Gather & Game is an absolute must visit. Highly recommend!!!
I went to a learn-to-play DND session with a friend, which, was DM’d by Seth. The shop is cozy, welcoming and full of a variety of games and supplies tor purchase. They also have a board game library and drinks/snacks available for purchase (for those extra long game sessions). The session was great! Seth was a good teacher and guided the campaign very well for new players. I would love to bring more friends to learn with Seth, and I would recommend anyone who is interested to buy tickets for the next learn to play.
One of the best game stores I’ve been to. The physical space is really small but the selection is QUITE large. It truly has some of the most Warhammer I have ever seen. Amazing selection of paints too. The best part is the friendly staff. They make it an extremely welcoming environment. I only swung by when visiting Buffalo NY. Wish I had this board game store in my neighborhood!
My first time playing an RPG. Gather and Game is a nice space for playing with 2 -5 players. They have snacks and drinks for purchase while you play. Don't expect Monopoly or Clue, this is a store for people who like off-the-beaten-path games. Prices are good, though and the atmosphere is homey. 6 of us came for a couple of hours of play, and the owner was very welcoming and helpful.
