Crema's Take
“Baba Java is a locally roasted gem that's earned its devoted following with creamy, flavorful espresso drinks like their beloved Camel latte and maple brown sugar latte, paired with a cozy, Arabian-inspired atmosphere that feels both welcoming and sophisticated. Their commitment to freshness shows in every cup—whether you're ordering a carefully crafted pour over or one of their seasonal specials—and the spacious, laptop-friendly space has a way of turning first-time visitors into regulars who keep coming back for the coffee and the genuinely kind staff.”

I started coming to Baba Java to write my dissertation but I kept coming back because of their coffee and amazing staff. My favorite latte is the Camel latte, but they also have great seasonal specialties (the pumpkin in fall is another favorite!). Try their savory roll, it's delicious and so slept on! Also the staff are patient and helpful with customers even when super busy, and they seem to take pride in both their coffees and their service and brand. 💚🐪
It’s a great local coffee spot that roasts their own beans. The chai we got was flavorful and wasn’t watered down. The beans we got were fresh, easy to dial in and tasted great. It was spacious inside and quiet, staff was great.
Warning: This place is addicting! This local spot serves some of the creamiest, most flavorful coffee in Birmingham. The vibe is super cozy with a cute Arabian touch and the staff are so friendly and welcoming, you’ll feel right at home. Perfect for a caffeine fix, a catchup with friends or just soaking in the atmosphere. Honestly, one sip and you’ll be coming back every day! ☕
Great coffee! The maple brown sugar latte is one of the best drinks on their menu (if you don’t like too sweet then get half the flavor and it tastes great). The food options are lacking a bit, but their blueberry bagel and strawberry cream cheese is a nice treat to pair with your drink. Wish they were open later because they get a lot of foot traffic and people who like to study/work there.
This was my first experience and it won't be my last. A lot times we like to go where it's popular but this is a hidden gem. My Cinnamon Latte w/almond milk was delicious. The atmosphere was great for the meeting I attended. A place to go with less distractions, great taste, service, and atmosphere to study or work.
