“Sugar Beach's malasadas are the real draw here—these Portuguese pastries sell out by mid-morning and locals swear by the coconut-filled and cinnamon sugar varieties that hit that sweet spot between indulgent and not cloying. The coffee is straightforward and competent rather than specialty-focused, but paired with fresh pastries and a genuinely friendly staff, it's an excellent grab-and-go spot before heading to the beach. Hit it early or you'll be disappointed by empty display cases.”
