Crema's Take
“Tucked in Cincinnati's university area, The 86 Coffee Bar has mastered the art of the welcoming third space with its cozy, unhurried atmosphere that feels equally suited for focused work sessions or lingering conversations over a latte topped with latte art. Their baristas genuinely listen to feedback and preferences—whether you want your London Fog sweeter or are delighting in a signature drink adorned with a delicate swan design—creating that rare combination of specialty craft and genuine hospitality that keeps people coming back.”

Amazing service and atmosphere to work and relax. Ordered a hot vanilla latte and they did this cute swan drawing on the coffee :D Would definitely go back!
86 is such a cozy and inviting spot. The atmosphere is relaxed and just right — a great place to catch up on emails, finish a project with colleagues, or simply unwind with a good drink. Whether you’re stopping in for coffee or enjoying something from the bar, everything feels thoughtful and welcoming. The staff is kind, the space is comfortable, and it’s the sort of place you find yourself returning to again and again.
I went to this coffee shop before class and I ordered a London fog and asked that it be a bit sweeter bc my last time getting a drink from here it was bland and not sweet. I was told that it’s an extra charge just to sweeten a drink. They tried to charge me 50 cents more just for this modification. I think this shop has forgotten the demographic that they are serving and have taken a greedy approach to serving as a college coffee shop. Will not be returning as much as I have been.
Great First Visit to 86 Coffee Bar! This café is clean, cozy, and inviting, with a good menu and friendly staff. I ordered an Au Lait cold brew with hazelnut—it was pleasant, smooth, and gave me the perfect pick-me-up. The young lady at the counter and the gentleman who made my drink were both kind, attentive, and happy to answer my questions. Service was quick but still careful, which I appreciated. I also picked up 2 bags of their coffee beans to try at home (they even offer to grind them for your brew method), so I’ll update once I’ve tasted those. I can definitely see this being a great spot for UC students or folks looking to study, meet a friend, or just hang-out. The playlist had energy, which some people (like myself) love for coffee breaks, while those who prefer a quiet café vibe might enjoy taking their coffee to-go if there on Saturday afternoon. Overall, I’m really glad I stopped in—good drinks, warm atmosphere, great staff, and a place I’d recommend to anyone looking for a nice cup of coffee in Cincy!
Very nice place. Right within the university area. The vibe is nice and coffee is always pouring.
