Crema's Take

Sabores Oaxaqueños is a warmly authentic corner of Oaxaca transplanted to Los Angeles, where homemade chorizo, perfectly charred tlayudas, and traditional mole aren't just menu items—they're stories the staff share with genuine enthusiasm. The cozy, family-friendly dining room doubles as a gathering place for long afternoons and spontaneous karaoke nights, making it ideal for lingering over their exceptional house-made drinks and light, carefully crafted dishes. This is the kind of place where the waitstaff remember you, the flavors taste like home, and every visit feels like you've been welcomed into something special.

I went with a friend of mine during lunch noon time. No wait at all we were seated upon arrive time. I forgot the waitress name but he is from Oaxaca, Mexico such a nice guy telling us stories about how we should visit his town and etc. He also recommend us which food to get the popular one. I was craving a chicken mole but didn't know there was different kinds. He brought us 3 examples but decided to go with the black mole a bit spicy but sweet my taste. Portions of food are big and tastefull. They gave us 1 huge tortilla and small ones (flour) kind. Totally recommend this small authentic Oaxaca restaurant. You feel like your in thier town very colorful inside and tequila bottles everywhere :) My friend got Chipotle shrimp super delicious and good portion as well.

This is the first time trying Oaxacan food and I gotta say it's amazing. The chips with mole and cheese served as appetizer was very delightful. But the main course was even better I forgot the name of the platter I ordered but it had everything, from black beans, cactus salad, quesadillas, chapulines, chorizo, cecina guacamole, and more. The taste of everything is very delicious. I will definitely go back.

I hosted a private "Blind in Oaxaca" blind wine tasting dinner here, and the experience was truly exceptional. The team stepped in on very short notice after another restaurant canceled, and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. They worked with us on every detail, food allergies, custom needs, pacing and even created a completely custom five-course Oaxacan menu for our event. Service was outstanding from start to finish. Luis, our server, was beyond amazing: attentive without hovering, always anticipating what we needed, and keeping everything running smoothly for a complex wine and food tasting dinner with many moving parts. The entire staff made sure we had absolutely everything we required to make the night a success. The food itself was incredible and paired beautifully with the wines. The standouts were the vintage Champagne with the chapulines, the Rioja with the tlayuda, aged Chardonnay with the empanada, and the Lechuza red blend with the mole. It was amazing to see how well the dishes matched the wines, and how many unexpected pairings became crowd favorites. If you’re looking for a restaurant that cares deeply about hospitality, flexibility, and true service, this is it. Highly recommended for both private events and dinner in general.

Cozy spot with a home style family vibe and occasional karaoke. Tried the Tlayuda with their in house made chorizo and the molotes de papa, really light and tasty. And a super friendly enthusiastic staff! We'll be sure back here some time and curious to taste more Oaxacan specialties! They direct you to free parking for guests too since it's hard to find a space in the area.
