Crema's Take
“Cristino's Bakery in Goleta is a beloved local institution that goes far beyond coffee, serving up authentic Santa Barbara County classics like fresh tamales, pan dulces, and breakfast sandwiches on jalapeño bagels alongside straightforward drip coffee that locals genuinely enjoy. The warm, family-friendly atmosphere and genuinely kind staff make it the kind of place where regulars and visitors alike feel instantly welcomed, whether you're grabbing a quick breakfast or settling in to meet a friend over fresh pastries. If you're seeking traditional, unpretentious comfort food and honest coffee in a place that clearly cares about doing things right, this is worth the short wait.”

This place puts out unbelievable authentic food. The burritos, tamales, tres leche, tri tip, bacon cheeseburger, breakfast sandwich (jalapeño bagel :-)), and others are best in Santa Barbara county and it’s not close. I’ve lived here 20 years and this is what it’s all about out. If you love food, do yourself a favor and make a trip to Cristino’s Bakery.
The other reviews are not playing. This place is truly amazing. I enjoy all types of food including high end and would choose this place any day of the week over places like The Lark and Flor De Maiz in Santa Barbara which cost 20x the price. The tamales are something like an abuela that loved you before you were even born would make. Melt in your mouth delicious, especially with the multitude of green/red sauces that come with it. The tacos were so good I literally caught myself moaning when eating them. This is the type of home made food with love that you only find in rare corners of Mexico or the nostalgic memories of your distant past. Other than the food, the staff was an absolute delight as well. You can tell Claudia is a special person that deserves all the good in life - she radiates positivity, tells you about the way they make their food, and even took the time to teach me about an unique place in Mexico called Santuario Chincua - Mariposa Monarca (definitely worth visiting). The world needs more people like this which spread love through their food and attitude. If I lived in the area I would eat this every day, 10/10. I'll be sure to visit every time I return to the area.
My son took us to Cristino’s Bakery for lunch while we were visiting him, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was! The service was great — the person who helped us was super nice, polite, and gave us great suggestions. We tried the carne asada torta and the adobado burrito, and both were delicious. Definitely a place we’ll visit again!
Lorena and her team were AMAZING!! We hired Cristino's for an event at our school and everyone raved about the food (tamales, beans, rice, horchata, agua de jamaica, and pan dulces). The service was equally as exceptional. Lorena and Cristino came and set everything up; it looked incredible. They were the best partners and so fun and easy to work with. Can't wait to work with them again, and highly recommend!!
Very enjoyable. Food is very fresh and delicious. Great service but expect to wait while your food is prepared. Only drip coffee here, no milk alternatives but it's nice and drinkable. Last visit I had a yummy breakfast burrito with salsa, a cheesecake type muffin and a big cup of coffee with half and half and cinnamon. Will be back for more. Esp want to try their flan. They had run out, so next time!
